It was an amazing experience and Jorge was an amazing guide!! Very patient and took pictures of us at many different points in the cave. Do not bring your phones! Holding them is not possible due to the intense physicality of climbing up and down the ladders/ropes. Very beautiful and gorgeous, a once in the lifetime experience!! PREPARE for a workout and wear good shoes!!
The adventure was billed as repelling down but was actually a climb down to the volcano crater and back up. Jorge was a friendly and knowledgeable guide and was very concerned with our safety. It was a once in a lifetime adventure.
This was such an amazing experience and Jorge was a great guide who watched over everyone. I would caution the excursion is quite strenuous. Also, it’s not really rappelling down into the crater (which I s was excited to do). It was like more climb down a ladder with harness gear for safety and then back up. It was a great experience to see the hidden beauty within the crater.
Incredible experience, the cave is a truly stunning place and relaying down plus bouldering in there is a lot of fun. Jorge was a spectacular guide.
The trip was super cool! I was picked up on time by George, and although I was alone, he did the excursion. The lava tunnel is impressive, the stairs only part of it. At the bottom, George told and showed many exciting minerals and rocks. He took enough time and took a lot of pictures of me. Great!
Jorge is a phenomenal guide ! Both in safety and knowledge. This tour is a bit rigorous but absolutely worth it. I highly recommend taking this once in a lifetime tour if you have the opportunity.
Loved it. Jorge was a great guide. Somewhat rigorous. Descend several 100 meters down dirt path, wooden step and metal ladders—roped in with harness, ascenders, helmet, headlamps, and knee pads. On reaching bottom, some bouldering to reach a smaller cave. Guide explains where to step and watches everyone. I’m an experienced climber but other two in my group were not and they did fine. Jorge took individual and group photos of us at key points and airdropped them to us. Company very responsive to messages with questions. Awesome experience.
I booked this for my family because my kids (15 and 16) and husband are pretty adventurous. Me, not so much but I knew they would enjoy it. Our guide picked us up at our hotel right on time. It was not a long drive. Our guide got all of our safety equipment on. He gave a good explanation of the area. Then we started the climb into the cave. Even thought I’m scared of heights and enclosed spaces and a lot of other things, our guide made me feel as safe as possible. He took fantastic pictures of us which was much appreciated. My family had so much fun and I did not freak out (victory for me). In other caves we have explored in other parts of the world, the caves were usually very cold but that was not the case here. It was pretty warm in there! I had forced everyone to pack extra layers for this which were not needed at all.
Such a unique experience. Jorge was a great guide, took great photos and was super knowledgeable about the area! Turned out I was the only one schedule for the morning tour and they still took me as planned. Many companies would have canceled.
This was a great and very unique experience but very strenuous. Make sure you wear pants and be prepared to get dirty. Jorge was an amazing tour guide! Would definitely recommend.
