A beautiful trip to Villa Joyosa with its colorful houses and beach Promenade. Also Altea. A white town with great views. Recommend lunch in a terrace restaurant with view to ocean. Alberto our tour guide was amazing in explaining and making the day memorable.
We were in Alicante for a day off a cruise ship. Meeting Alberto was really easy, he was in front of a huge hotel at the entrance to the port. There were five of us in total on the tour. Alberto is very personable, speaks excellent English and was very knowledgeable about the villages we visited. Villajoysa was first and is a very quaint and pretty village. I loved seeing the tiny painted fishermen's houses. We spent quite awhile walking through the streets of the village and finished with some free time which we spent sitting on seats on the beautiful beach. It was a lovely sunny day and there were a lot of people sunbathing and swimming. Next Alberto took us to an Artisanal Chocolate maker where we sampled whatever chocolate we wanted and also made purchases. I thought the prices were very reasonable and the chocolate was delicious. Lastly we traveled to Altea which is another lovely village but everything is white so completely different to Villajoysa. I think we had about two hours here which allowed us to have a really nice tapas lunch and to browse through some of the lovely shops and take photos. When we got back to Alicante we still had several hours free as our ship was not leaving port until 8pm. We decided to walk along the beautiful promenade and stopped for a drink and the watch the world go by. We did walk a few streets inland from the Promenade but there was not anything interesting to see at all. I feel we definitely made the correct choice to book the Charming Villages tour. We loved our day visiting the small villages rather than walking around another big city. I can thoroughly recommend this tour especially if you prefer small towns to large cities and seeing how real Spanish people live. Thank you Alberto, this tour was in the top three tours we did during our five week holiday in Europe. I can certainly see why so many people choose to holiday in the south of Spain.
Great tour with an excellent guide. The group was very small - just us plus 2 other people. Our guide explained a lot, and we had plenty of time to stroll in both places besides the tour. Both places are very different but fantastic. The chocolate factory is also really great and still very traditional!
What a great tour. Small tour and our guide was great to take time to walk slower for elderly people and he gave loads of information all the way on the drive. So one gets lots of information not just on the cities visited but also those one passes. He also made great recommendations for restaurants in the area and took us off the beaten track for photos and views.
One of the best tours we’ve had. Alberto was great and very informative about the towns visited, which were beautiful.
Great experience. The guide, Alberto, was very good and knowledgeable. Small group, right amount of time, good price. Highly recommended.
We really enjoyed our tour with Alberto to Villajoiosa and Althea. He’s a knowledgable, friendly and easy going guide. The pace of the full day tour was good; transportation was comfortable. I like the small group format. Each town is so different from Alicante or Valencia. It was interesting to see how residents live and work and to learn about the region’s history and culture. I’m glad we were there during the off season. We also did the Ali-Oli wine tour with Alberto the following day
Highly recommend the guided tour with Ali-Oli Tours! Small group of 7 people and very knowledgeable guide from the area. If I were to go on an excursion again, I would first see if Ali-Oli had it to offer.
This was by now our 4th. Tour with Aliolitours and it was again more than worth it. You can tell our guide Alberto that he knows and loves his homeland. During the drive to the first town we already got a lot of information, not only are there local history and culture, but Alberto also has absolutely a lot to tell historically. What is great is that he likes to lead us as a small group (there were 6 of us) a little off the Troubles. The organizer attaches importance to supporting local family businesses. This was also the case this time when the chocolate maker visited! If you like, you can really eat enough here - Alberto didn't exaggerate. In the next town we also had time to stroll, but our guide remained centrally accessible and encouraged us to contact him at any time. It was a wonderful day, Alberto, thank you for sharing your homeland with us Touris again. Dear people, Aliolitours has never let us down before! The next time we visit Alicante we will pick a tour again and are already looking forward to it!
Great Tour. Our guide Alberto is a local. He is full of information and tips. The village-tour was great and shows one the local way of life. Information includes history and how things have developed over the past 30-40 years. Alberto also ensures promoting local and independent shops/manufacturers, thereby ensuring local thrive. I would recommend Ali-Oli Tours when visiting Alicante.
