DISGUSTING AND AGGRESSIVE SCAMMERS! DO NOT BOOK, RUN AWAY FROM HERE! A terrible, dishonest service that borders on organized fraud. Before booking the tour for Mosquito Bay in Vieques, they GUARANTEED us 100% that there was no sargassum and that the bioluminescence would be seen perfectly. Everything was a complete lie just to keep our money. Once in the kayaks, the guide took us very far away and started wasting time talking to us about the Big Dipper, the stars, and whatever stupidity occurred to him just to kill time. When I asked him directly about the bioluminescence—which was totally nonexistent—the guide answered me with absolute audacity: "Oh no, it's just that you can't see that today." A ridiculous lack of respect. But the worst nightmare began upon returning to dry land: Lack of respect and audacity: We asked for explanations from the driver/organizer with whom we had spoken before and who had assured us that everything would be visible. When I told him that we hadn't seen absolutely anything, he didn't even believe me and blurted out to my face: "Well, I wasn't there present with you, you could be saying any stupid thing." Unacceptable arrogance and insolence! Insults to customers: Not content with that, he called a friend of his who started yelling insults at us, reaching the point of telling us that we were "colorblind." Censorship and manipulation: They did everything to PREVENT us from talking or comparing notes with the other tourists who were finishing the tour, to avoid people realizing the scam and starting a group complaint. Dishonest, rude, aggressive people with not a shred of respect for the customer. They ruined our night completely. Don't give these crooks a single dollar: they should go bankrupt and close forever.
Everyone was super friendly and it was really easy to coordinate. They answered lots of questions and accommodated us.
Great experience, cool waters
Great experience! Really beautiful lights and something really unique
Wonderful guides, easy to find at pickup, great communication, perfect for families! We had a blast and hope to come again soon!
Great overall experience. We had fun, wish the bay was brighter like the pictures
So much fun! Definitely recommend this company. The guides are so informative and nice. If you come at night, make sure you grab food first! There is a small store nearby, but it closes at 9.
Great guides, so fun! We felt so safe and leaned a lot!
We had such a great experience with Fokito for our bioluminescent bay tour in Mosquito Bay! When we first arrived at the meeting point, I’ll admit it looked a little more rustic/run-down compared to some of the other tour companies nearby, so we weren’t quite sure what to expect. But the moment the owner pulled up and greeted us, that feeling completely disappeared. He was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and immediately made us feel comfortable. We had the chance to talk with him and learned that he’s a young owner building this business from the ground up. It was actually his first night having someone else guide one of his groups because the business has been growing enough for him to hire some help—which was really cool to hear! Our guide, Abdiel, was excellent. He was knowledgeable, patient, and made the whole experience enjoyable. Kayaking through Mosquito Bay at night is such a unique experience, especially because we purposely chose a night with no moon. The stars were absolutely AMAZING. The bioluminescence itself wasn’t quite as bright as I had imagined, but that’s nature—you can’t control it! We were told the winter months tend to be the brightest, so we already know we want to come back during that time. What really stood out to us were all the little things. At the end of the tour, the owner personally rinsed the mud off our feet so we wouldn’t have to leave dirty. He also knew we had a 9:30 PM ferry back to Ceiba and coordinated with our taxi driver to make sure they were waiting for us when we finished. That extra effort meant a lot and took away the stress of worrying about making our ferry. You can tell this is a small, growing business where the owner genuinely cares about the people coming on his tours. We would absolutely book with Fokito again. Next time, we’re coming back in the winter—and we’ll be choosing the same company!
Our tour guides were friendly and funny, the history interesting and we felt taken care of.
