Petro was so knowledgeable and engaging. He educated us on the history of Chania and showed us the town. We had the best time. I highly recommend this tour!
Petro studied business in the US so he can compare and contrast both cultures. Chania old town and surroundings are very picturesque and is the easiest short day tour from Souda cruise ship port. We hope to see you again in the future to explore more of west Crete, from beaches to mountains, history, culture and food!
This tour was Great, and George was just fabulous. His knowledge of the area and history of Chania was second to none. As a private tour, he catered for our individual needs, and gave us super recommendations of places to visit in “the old town”. Thank you George, we thoroughly enjoyed our time with you.
We are so glad you had a great day out and around Chania. Our tours are educative, we talk about history, culture, traditions or whatever interests you. We hope to see you again in the future, there are so many locations to visit in west Crete!
Petro was a great guide and was very knowledgeable about the history of Chania. He was very accommodating to our needs and explained the history of the region thoroughly. At 6’9”, he was easy to spot on pickup. We had a great time visiting Chania and can’t wait to go back.
We are glad you enjoyed Chania old town and your guide Petro. He studied business in the US and together with his brother George runs Niriis Tours and do tours. There are many locations to visit in west Crete, so next time you come, stay longer. We hope to see you again in Chania, west Crete!
My family of six adults took two tours, one with George (educated in Britain, and one with Peter (educated in South Carolina). Each brother was stellar, completely fluent in English (although the difference in their accents was hilarious) and thoroughly knowledgeable in the varied history of this storied and complex place. They were each perfect gentlemen, patient, helpful, and generous with their time and expertise. They answered every question and enriched the experience beyond all expectations. We hope to return and take more excursions with them in the future.
Thank you for your review. We try to offer a unique experience of Crete, not only we visit nice locations, but also try to enrich the tour with a wealth of information regarding the history, culture or anything that interest you. The best guides are not those who just bombard you with information and become boring, but those who make you comfortable and make a pleasant educative experience. Hope to see you again in the future!
A great tour! Peter was professional, knowledgeable, and prompt. His tour was a good combination of historical sights, free time for shopping, and a great recommendation for lunch. Thank you Peter! Don H & Friends
We are happy you enjoyed your stay in Chania and old town tour. Peter is well educated and travelled, studied business in the US so he can give a different hindsight to culture, traditions and Greek way of life compared with other countries. Because its a private tour, we can be flexible and can have time for shopping or lunch. Hope to see you again in the future to explore more of Crete.
This is an exceptional excursion! Nikos was so kind and knowledgeable of the island. He made us feel like we were family. I walk using a walker and he did everything to make me feel comfortable. I would recommend this tour to anyone.
We are so glad you enjoyed the tour around Chania old town. Nikos is an excellent guide, knowledgeable and friendly. All our tours are private, so flexible and accommodating to your needs. We hope to see you again and spend more time in west Crete.
George “the tall guy” was a great guide. He is obviously well educated in history and politics and we learned quite a bit about the wars and current military installations in Crete. The church atop the hill was inspirational. The mostly self guided tour of the Venetian portion of Chania was great because George told us what not to miss and arranged for an oil, balsamic, raki, honey and nut butter tasting which was fantastic. We ended up buying a bunch of items because we knew how good it tasted. We purchased beautiful linens. After viewing outside and inside the walls of the old city, we toured some additional beaches. It’s cool now but the water was calm and shallow. It’s perfect for when it’s hot out. I’d highly recommend a tour with George because he customized it to meet our expectations.
We are glad you enjoyed Chania tour. Because its a private tour, we are flexible and can adjust to what you like or want to see. Each traveller has different priorities and interests, eg history or shopping. Our tour guides try to focus on your interests, and put more weight on what you like. George is no exception and because your accommodation was close to these nice beaches, spent a little bit more time driving around them. In this tour lunch is optional, as well as wine tasting, visiting the archaeological museum or the synagogue. We want travellers to have the best experience in Chania and Crete, whatever they choose to do. We wish the best for the rest of your holidays in Greece.
Thank you George for a GREAT day! The downtown of Chania was better than we ever thought as were the shops you brought us to run by 4th generation family. The scenery, the ruins, the love of your town that you gave to us was priceless. Do not miss this tour with George!
Thank you so much for your kind words. All our guides put an effort to show you the best of the town. George is very knowledgeable. In our tours we try to give as much information as possible, without being boring, and talk about nature, history, traditions and many other topics you find interesting. Our tours are educational rather than just driving around. Hope to see you again in Chania, Crete!
My wife and I and our friends from Toronto had a very nice day in Chania with our driver Peter!! He was terrific and extremely nice but most of all very well versed and knowledgeable!! The excursion for the day was very well worth the time. We would highly recommend Peter and or his brother to go on tour with!! A+++ Tour!! Thank you…. Phil and Cheryl Atlanta Ga!!
We are so glad you enjoyed the tour! I (Peter) like all our guides try to give the best possible experience and be flexible depending on the travellers' needs. We talk a bit, trying to give information about various topics, without being too boring. At Niriis tours we hope to see you or your friends again in the future. Enjoy the rest of your cruise!
George was extremely knowledgeable about the island and history. He drove us to the important historical stops as well as gave us time on our own to visit recommended shops and restaurants. He was my favorite tour guide amongst all our cruise stops.
We are so glad you enjoyed the tour of Chania. There are many places to visit and see around Chania and Crete. The old town is picturesque and can go shopping. Thanks for tolerating our non-stop talking. Hope to see you again in the future!
