We visited Statue of Unity in January 2025. We arrived at just the right time before Light Show was about to start. It was amazing show and it showed everything and it must not be missed at all. Next morning we visited the sight again n went up the Statue of Unity n museum downstairs n watched n studied all the photos n writing. It was eye opener for me as there were many things that I was not aware of. I would say it must be visited by all and specially tourist. Town itself has got lots of restaurants and hotels to stay the night. The hotel we stsyed was very good and had all the relevant facilities that are required. Bed was good with clean sheets n good pillows. Breakfast in the morning was nice. I would like to visit the place again as we could not complete all the sightseeing there, like dam n other gardens due to our time limit for travelling to Ahmedabad.
Very nice and beautiful statue and location. Can say its a must visit. Well organized system, well maintained. Do not miss to see the laser show in the evening. It's superb.
It is a must visit, for the way it is being maintained and run. The nearest Rail station is Ektanagar, you may also reach there via Vadodara (2 hour cab ride). The important things to note are as under. 1) Your vehicle will not be allowed beyond the main entrance of the SoU. 2) The Free Bus service drops you from Bus Stations to Bus stations, which is at a some distance from the main attractions. Hence if you are unable to walk for long distances you may consider hiring autorickshaws for the entire day or point to point. 3) The light & sound show is complimentary with the ticket of Viewing Gallery of the Statue and is at 2 locations, at the statue and at Helipad, which is a bit far (they provide free bus service for internal Sightseeing also, point to point). For those who did not book or could not get the tickets for the same can watch it from the Bus station near the statue (it is between the helipad and the statue) however it is without the sound just the visuals. 4) If you are fussy about eating they do have a starbucks and Foodcourt inside the campus, but better to carry some munchies. 5) Only wallets and Ladies purses allowed, no other Bags allowed so you have to leave them at the lockers provided near the Bus station in case of Statue Campus. Rest it is a marvel worth visiting atleast once. Free Water is available at short distances so you can refill your bottles, no need to carry many bottles. And Refill reduces garbage also. Try to book the evening slot as you can then relax at the foot of the statue till the show begins. Cheers!!
Is is very good and beautiful place. There are all types of facility is available like food, bus and entertainment. There are very beautiful garden and Sardar Sarova Dam also. there natural beauty is amazing.
Dear Sir, Thanks for great review, request you please share few photographs of your visit. You can send us via mail meenakshi@agoravoyages.com or upload here yourself for other traveler to view. Regards, Meenakshi
If you are visiting SoU then you need atleast two days there. Do visit ArogyaVan there. It's a nice concept developed by these authorities. Also butterfly garden, ekta nursery and garudeshwar are spots to visit. Since we reached there on monday, we missed boat ride as monday is holiday for many spots there. Also you shoukld not miss laser show at SoU. This monument if not visited then we do not have right to complain that in India we do not have tourist attraction places.......
Heavily packed during holidays, so express pass/ advance booking is highly recommended. The museum is very detailed and interactive too. Give yourself atleast 3 hours to cover this attraction. The laser show's content could be a bit more engaging. If you have seen many laser shows, keep your expectations low. The food court and souvenir shops are not fully functional yet.
