Absolutely wonderful with Francesco ! He is so passionate about Verona and everything past/present . The day was so incredibly hot but the time spent with him was fantastic. we learned so much and He took the time to answer questions and the tour was more than expected. Even our 10 year old said how good it was and has not enjoyed previous tours . Do this tour with Francesco ! My only regret is not having any euros to tip him at that time , just my card. Grazie ! Francine
Terrible! Maria canceled on me last minute when I went to through the time and expense of getting to Verona!! She blamed it on the heat but there were many tours going on all day! A poor excuse!! Going to Verona to see Casa Di Giuliettes house was a dream for me and it was ruined by an inconsiderate selfish tour guide... Maria P!!
No, Danielle, you're not honest on this. A weather alert for excessive heat had been issued for the following day, warning all people to stay inside, especially in the hottest hours. When we heard it we tried in any way to contact you: we called your number, left messages on your box, wrote a message on the Viator chat, left a message on WhatsApp, and kept trying to call you, but you were not reachable. We hoped for the weather alert to be reduced (maybe from red to orange) on the following morning (the morning of the tour), but it wasn't. We tried to contact you again, but couldn't. 'Till you wrote us saying you were in Verona already, so we explained the problem to you and offered you an evening tour, which you refused. Sorry Danielle, but we have a legal and moral responsibility towards our clients and cannot run a tour at 13.30 in the afternoon on a red weather alert for excessive heat, what if you got a heat-stroke? We would be held responsible and you have no idea the troubles we would go through. I know there have been people which decided to ignore the alert and go on with the tours all the same, it's at their risk, honestly our policy is "safety first". You've been totally refunded and I promised you to put you in a tour at any other time for free (we know you're staying here for a week). There's nothing much more we can do, honestly. You're still very welcome to join any of our tours for free if you want to, just let us know. Have a good holiday, Danielle, and please take care of yourself: heat can be very dangerous and you seem not to realize it thoroughly. Maria Pia P.S. Juliet's House is partially closed due to the heat, like other museums all over Italy.
Maria was an amazing guide and storyteller! My entire family enjoyed the tour and we made some wonderful memories while learning about Verona. This was one of my favorite tours while on our trip in Italy. 🧡
Thank you! You're a beautiful family, I wish you all the best 💕 Maria Pia
Absolutely loved it! Maria is a great story teller and full of historical insights. Enjoyed walking and listening to her. It was extra bonus because I love architecture and that she shared different era and how the architecture reflected the time period! She was very kind to take pictures of us and one of the standby asked her question about Romeo’s house and she was kind enough to offer her the info. See?! She should have signed up! It is so much more enjoyable when you hear the historical background instead of trying to figure out on your own. Totally worth it!
Thank you, I'm so proud of my city that it's impossible for me not to give info and insights to anyone asking 🤣🤣🤣 It was a great pleasure to be with you, I wish you all the best! Maria Pia
This was a fantastic walking tour to learn the history of Romeo and Juliet while also discovering the history of Verona. Maria Pia was the best tour guide and made our experience that much more special. Highly recommend this tour!!!!!!!
Thank you Kelsey, yes, the tragic story of Romeo and Juliet is strictly linked to the life of the period and once you discover it, everything appears logical and clear, step by step of the story, till the terrible ending ...
Fantastic tour, our guide was absolutely great. She explained the whole story not the movie, while walking around the streets & pointing out everything. It was the most satisfying tour we’ve had.
Thank you! Your happiness is the best reward I could ask for. I wish you all the best. Maria Pia
Maria Pia was a wonderful storyteller and made the story of Romeo & Juliet come alive as we walked the ancient streets of Verona ! I would highly recommend her tour to anyone visiting Verona.
Thank you! It's an easy job in such a wonderful city!
The meet up location for this tour given by Trip Advisor was different from the location air bnb guests were given. Frustrating!
No Ross, it wasn't like this: I had agreed with the AirBnB clients to add the explanation of the Arena to the tour and proposed you to reach us at 13.30 (instead of 13.45) in a meeting place near the Arena, to get the explanation of the amphitheater as a bonus, for free. You accepted and then went to the meeting place you had been given by TripAdvisor for the Romeo and Juliet Tour! We got crazy for almost 20 minutes looking for you near the Arena, but, sorry to say, the mistake was totally yours, you had been given the new meeting place near the Arena! Maybe I shouldn't have given you the chance to get the explanation of the Arena as an extra, and simply left you with the tour on Romeo and Juliet starting from Piazza Erbe as stated on TripAdvisor, at least we wouldn't have all lost 20 minutes looking for you and maybe we would even have got a better review, based on the tour and not on the fact that you missed the meeting!
María Pía made the tour super interesting for the teenagers. Very clear explanation in uncrowded and beautiful streets. The girls who had also seen the movie Letters to Juliet for the trip were delighted!
We thought we were just going to enjoy a nice tour of Juliet's home, but got so much more. The history of the area, being advised that we were walking on ancient fossils in the marble on the ground, and then looking up at the different centuries and identifying each style of architecture was very helpful for the rest of our time throughout Italy. Verona was so much more than we expected. This was easily the most informative tour we did in any city in Italy, we did 6 tours. Our guide was very entertaining, funny, had a great understandable accent, and we appreciated the earpiece while she spoke in her microphone. The only drawback was our schedule and we had to leave early just as she was wrapping up. Highly recommend this great tour.
Thank you, I really liked being with you, hope you managed to get back in time (I felt really sorry for this). All the best and, should you need anything while in Italy, please remember you've got a friend here now, just text me. Maria Pia
