Explorez le cœur animé de la Place du Congo, où les Africains réduits en esclavage se réunissaient autrefois pour pratiquer leurs rituels culturels et leur musique, jetant les bases des riches traditions vaudoues de la ville. Découvrez la vie et les légendes de Marie Laveau, la pratiquante vaudou la plus célèbre de l'histoire. Poupées vaudou, Vevers, et sacs Gris-Gris: Faites connaissance avec les artefacts vaudous, découvrez les poupées, les vevers et les sacs gris-gris, et apprenez leurs significations et leurs utilisations. En raison des nouvelles règles de sécurité des pèlerinages de l'archidiocèse de la Nouvelle-Orléans, cette visite ne visite pas le cimetière Saint-Louis n°1. Les offrandes au tombeau de Marie Laveau sont déconseillées.
Petit réseau grouillant de vie de laissez-faire allongé sur les rives douces du puissant Mississippi, le quartier français est depuis longtemps un port d'escale pour les gens à la recherche de bons moments et d'une belle histoire.
Nous terminons à l'extérieur du centre culturel et des collections Vaudou Authentica de La Nouvelle-Orléans. Vous aurez autant de temps que vous aimeriez explorer après la visite. Ce n'est pas seulement un magasin, mais aussi un temple et un espace éducatif. Tous ceux qui travaillent ici sont des pratiquants du vaudou, et tout ce qui se trouve dans la boutique (sauf les œuvres d’art africaines et haïtiennes) est fabriqué par des pratiquants locaux.

I took a tour with guide, High Priest Robi, and it was amazing! The crowd size was intimate, and was the perfect amount of time to both get to know Robi, the city, and each other! The overall atmosphere was cinematic, the perfect mix of humor, moments of silence to acknowledge past sacrifices, and heartfelt. The price is truly worth the experience, but I would recommend it more for adults or families who can handle discussing heavier topics (as mentioned in the content acknowledgement in the listing). Robi is extremely knowledgeable from both an academic standpoint and anecdotal experiences, which was a real pleasure to be let in on his personal experiences/how those practices relate in the larger story of the tour. He also made the point to share additional information before/after the tour, while citing sources throughout the visit, which made all of the vibrant storytelling all the more credible. This was one of the best tours I've been on in any city, and Robi's magnetic personality is something you have to experience for yourself. ╰(*´︶`*)╯♡

I was very fortunate to be guided through Congo Square by High Priest Robi on March 26, 2026 with my 8 friends from Montana. It was a highlight of our week-long stay. My friend Beth booked the event so not sure what app she used. I have witnessed few people in my life that are as moving, funny, informed, and life-changing as High Priest Robi. High Priest Robi was nothing short of phenomenal! He was so kind and welcoming - my husband is recovering from back surgery and walking with a cane. High Priest Robi was so sweet and accommodating, he frequently pointed out places for Richard to sit during the tour. He is incredibly knowledgeable about Voodoo and Louisiana history, and he is a dynamic and fascinating storyteller. We were enthralled the entire time. We did both the afternoon Voodoo History tour as well as the morning tour with High Priest Robi. I HIGHLY recommend both for anyone interested in learning more about voodoo and it's history in New Orleans. There isn't much overlap between the two tours, and they're very different experiences. The time with High Priest Robi is something I will always remember and was a total highlight of our trip to New Orleans. Open mind is a must.

Our guide (Matthew, I believe, I'm embarrassed that I don't remember) was literally a walking encyclopedia of all things voodoo but also all things history based in NOLA. We felt lucky to have him for this tour. He provides a non- judgmental space for learning & asking questions. We learned so much.
