Selous stimule une plus grande population d'éléphants ainsi qu'un grand nombre de buffles, d'hippopotames, de crocodiles et de chiens sauvages en voie de disparition. On voit couramment la fierté du lion, du bouc, de l'impala, des phacochères, de l'autruche, de la girafe, de l'éland, du babouin, du zèbre, de l'hyène, du koudou, de l'antilope rare et du léopard. A Selous, il existe plus de 400 espèces d'oiseaux: aigle pêcheur, martin-pêcheur, oiseau secrétaire, oiseau du soleil, Hammer kop, cigogne à bec rouge et jaune, cigogne à bec ouvert, tisserands, oiseaux aquatiques, cigogne du marabou, vautour, etc. variété de la faune à explorer sont infinies.

Départ à Zanzibar à 08h00 ou à Dar es Salaam à 08h00 en avion charter pour une heure de vol à destination d'une piste d'atterrissage dans la réserve de Selous Game Reserve à votre arrivée, procurez-vous de ce que la nature vous offrira! Vous verrez des éléphants, des lions, des élands, des léopards, des guépards, des girafes, des chiens sauvages, des petits koudous, des hippopotames et des crocodiles vivent dans cet immense sanctuaire de 50 000 km 2, pratiquement non perturbé par l'impact humain. Le parc comporte une variété de zones de végétation, allant de bosquets denses à des prairies boisées ouvertes. Déjeuner pique-nique dans la brousse, détendez-vous pendant une heure puis continuez votre route en safari pour profiter du safari de la savane africaine avec toute la faune. Voir le sentier des animaux sauvages vers les lacs et les rivières pour boire de l'eau. Les safaris en voiture jusqu'à l'après-midi, vers 16 heures, reprennent votre vol pour Dar es Salaam ou Zanzibar. C'est un court safari, mais ça vaut le coup si vous n'avez pas beaucoup de temps pour le safari.

This is an experience no one should miss! Worth every $. Everything about it was out of this world. You get to see all the big animals in their natural habitat. We got picked up from the hotel at 5 am then went straight to the airport. Landed in Selous at 7:30 am and started the game drive right away. Godfrey was very helpful and the guide we had Jumaa was very hands on and made sure we see all the animals. We didn’t see lions or leopards but it was still worth it.

Everything about the trip and its organisation were as we hoped. From the moment we were picked up from our hotel in the early hours of the morning to the moment we arrived back just over 12 hours later, everything was organised brilliantly and seamlessly. The transfers, the airport, the flights and as for the safari itself, it was awesome, amazing, incredible. Thanks so much for making the trip so memorable. What a day. I would recommend this trip to anyone who is visiting Zanzibar. We were picked up at 4:30am and taken to the airport where we got a plane directly to the National Park. We saw every animal we wanted to see (twice!) and our guides Henry and Patrick were friendly and informative. Lunch was good and we had access to cold water all day which was needed on a hot day. Thank you so much for a trip of a lifetime. Book it now!

I’m French and I booked all my excursions with them and everything was perfect. The safari one day in Selous was Just amazing. Everything was perfect : the flight, the jeep, the guide, the lunch. I saw the female of the lion, elephants, girafes, crocodiles, hippo and so many others. I paid all excursions in advance. Unfortunately one has been cancelled because not enough participants. I’ve been immediately reimbursed. You can trust in them.

I was really looking forward to my day trip to Selous for a safari. We woke up at 4am in the morning (hotel details all confirmed 3 times with Godfrey included the night before). He sent the driver to the incorrect place which was not driver’s fault as Godfrey may claim - he was told to go to wrong place by Godfrey which resulted in 1 hour late pick up from hotel and missing our flight. He was incredibly rude and sarcastic on the phone to my husband & I and also hung up on us. He said to change the day of the trip but we already had something else booked which was paid for. He says he offered to book another day but why would we? From a personal point of view, we simply did not trust him or his company to then choose to re-book with him understandably, so asked for our money back as we did not receive the service we paid for as we were not able to go on safari that day. We were in Zanzibar for a limited number of days and had each day planned accordingly so for something like this to happen had a huge impact on what we were able to do with the rest of our days. He did not give our $200 deposit back. He said he paid the driver $70 but that was not anything to do with us! It’s his company and his driver, of course he should be paying him. Making him go to the wrong place is not our problem, he wanted us to pay even though that was not included in the package and wanted us to pay even though he sent the driver to the wrong place making us late for our flight WE PAID FOR!! How can you then trust Godfrey and his company again? We still have not received our $200 deposit back for a safari we did not get to go to on the day originally planned due to Godfrey’s incompetence. He was also not willing to discount anything if we did rebook with him to compensate for our wasted time and day. We then booked with another company who were amazing, no middle agent and sent us our flight details immediately. If anyone would like recommendation, please message me directly and I will share but please save your money and time & do not book with Godfrey or his company! We said to him we will report him and leave him a bad review to which he was very sarcastic and did not care - very unprofessional. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND GODFREY OR THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE!!!
Dear Bilal & Ayesha I would like to answer your review point to point as below We booked the one day Selous trip. Paid $500 in deposit (bank transfer). On the day we were told to be ready by 5.00am and wait at the reception of our hotel. No one turned up for 15 mins. After I called him (he was still in bed), he claimed that his driver had gone to the wrong hotel in nungwi (30 mins away from us), in fact he had sent the driver to the incorrect hotel. I apologize for 5th times, I agree you booked a day trip to Selous and I paid a deposit $500. On 26 August we chart you asked a lot of safari experience and I answered you along with pick / drop off hotel. I was with different guests who made the trip on August 27, along with guests from Nungwi, the driver made a mistake went Nungwi , The time you text me via WhatsApp I replied to you immediately He lied and blamed his driver - Godfrey did this even though the night before I had messaged to confirm our booking. His driver said Godfrey was the one who told him to go to the wrong place. Because you booked with me, all the blame must come to me. Zanzibar I don't have one driver also I have Manage Abraham, he’s the one who arranges drivers / Guide When I tell you he was wrong, you must understand and not blaming all the time when I call him immediately he directs the driver to pick you up. I apologize After we arrived at the airport (1 hour late), we missed our domestic flight and as a result could not go to safari. In fact, the airport staff there said we did not have an air ticket as this was not sent to us and the person he claims to have sent it to was not there either. You need the guides to send your airplane tickets beforehand which was not done in our case!! 3. Driver took you to airport where the plane had already taken off at 0630 hrs. I contacted you through the phone of the driver and the airport boy, All the guests meet at Jahazi Restaurent at 06:00 and departure 0630, Unfortunately, you were late for the flight. I paid $200 deposit to my partner she left with the guests to Selous. She wouldn't be able to wait for you there and that's why I told you $500 Balance Day trip to Selous is a group, not every company can send its own plane. we organize and get many guests to selous We waited around 2 hours at the airport trying to sort out something else, and Godfrey was less than helpful. He kept deflecting the issue, and the end refused to answer calls and reply to messages and when he did eventually answer and reply, he also hung up on us. He also refused to refund our deposit. We found out at the airport, that businesses like this are actually "middle men.” They reach out to safari tour operators and try bargain seats and tickets with them to sell to tourists. If you want a safari, you're best booking directly through official operators. They are based at the airport, or contact your hotel/resort. Stay away from cowboy companies like this! Especially Godfrey! Horrible experience. We are still awaiting our $200 deposit back. Thieving company. I deny that it’s not true! you didn’t stay at the airport for 2 hours. when you were at airport / Driver was there with you, the boy at the airport already started convincing you to book a selous trip with him. When I called them to change date on August 29, you refused to listen to me or book anything with us. I explained I have already paid deposit $200 for your service, it is better if you change the date and go to August 29. You refused Abraham as a manager came to airport paid back $300 driver was there too. He left you and continued with his other duties. $300 you pay the young man who convinces you to book with him that's what you did. Driver took you to spice tour. You didn't pay him anything. You were so happy, you tipped him $20. Still you didn’t appreciate our service! If you were good people and don't like to defame me with false words. 1. What made you not change the date and go with us on August 29? 2. I sent you proof of payment and told you that if you refuse to go with us, I will not be paid $200. why did you strike? because I paid back $300!! 3. Humanely, all this wouldn’t happen if you were good people and agreed with us
My wife and I stayed in Zanzibar for a week, and wanting to see something different, opted for this trip. Although a bit pricey for a day trip, we reasoned that it cost less than doing a traditional safari, and may be the only way we could see a little of a place like the Selous Game Reserve. The safari itself was worthwhile....we boarded an early morning flight from Zanzibar and landed at an airstrip at the entrance to the park around 8:30 a.m. We enjoyed the day spent driving around the portion of the reserve designated as a national park...ranging about 40 km into the park, and saw a variety of wildlife: giraffes, hippos, elephants, impalas, baboons, wildebeests, and then some. A picnic lunch was included, and we were back at the airstrip at 4:00 for our flight back to Zanzibar. One could also stay for a night or two at one of several camps on near the Rufiji River, and have a more in-depth safari experience, but for those who might not be up to that, this is a good alternative. As far as planning, Godfrey made the arrangements, including a driver from our hotel who was there punctually at 6:00 a.m. Godfrey was easy to reach via Whatsapp, which we were glad about the morning of the trip, as there was a mix-up in communication about the flight, including which air carrier would take us. This did cause us some nervous moments, as we could have easily missed our flight (even as small as the terminal is, there were several flights on different carriers heading to different places for safaris). Godfrey worked the phones and managed to get us to the right counter in time to get our ticket, and it all worked out, but I would recommend double checking on this aspect before you leave. All in all though, it was a good experience and we were glad we did it.
