Seeing the elephants was amazing
We booked a six hour safari with Udawalawe Safari Jeep Service. Our guide, Vishwa was brilliant, he picked us up at 5.45am from our camp and took us straight to the national park. Vishwa had an eagle eye and could spot different wildlife from a great distance. He also took time to provide factual details about the wildlife too. Vishwa even set up breakfast for us while took some photos. Within the first 10 minutes we saw a bull elephant and then a larger herd of elephants. Throughout the day, we saw lots of elephants, buffalo, crocodiles, birds of prey, lizards, peacocks and so many birds. Sadly we didn’t see any leopards but that’s to be expected due to the dense foliage within Udawalawe. If you’re a budding ornithologist Udawalawe is definitely for you. If you are looking for a reputable safari company we recommend Udawalawe Safari Jeep Company and ask for Vishwa too.
