Goût Gianduiotto, la légende raconte que le gianduiotto est né à la suite du blocus continental de 1806 imposé par Napoléon. De nombreux chocolatiers ont commencé à produire du chocolat en remplaçant une partie de la pâte par des noisettes. Bicerin, qui signifie "verre" en piémont, est le nom d’une boisson turc typique sans alcool, qui provient d’une autre boisson du XVIIIe siècle appelée "bavareisa". Le vitel tonnè avec un verre de vin, contrairement à ce que l'on pourrait penser, n'est pas d'origine française mais très italien: le terme vitel tonnè vient du dialecte piémontais. Les fromages occupent une place très importante dans le patrimoine œnogastronomique piémontais, car ils sont plus de plusieurs centaines et nombre d'entre eux ont acquis au fil des ans les appellations DOP et DOC.

Guide was very knowledgeable of history in turin. BUT we booked a food tour to taste the foods in turin and little food and beverages offerred. Was a waste of money as far as a food tour goes

Our guide was very good at making us passionate about Piedmontese culinary tradition, and also explaining the history of the dishes we tasted. A great tour to discover places we would never have found on our own. Highly recommended.
