What really stood out for us was the scenery. Every day felt completely different. One moment we were walking through lush forest, the next we were in wide open valleys with insane views of cliffs and waterfalls. The stretch through Gorges Valley and around the lakes was easily our favorite quiet, dramatic, and just unbelievably beautiful. It never felt crowded, which made it feel more personal and special for us as a couple. The pace of the trek was also well thought out. It wasn’t easy definitely challenging at times but the gradual ascent helped us adjust to the altitude. By the time summit day came, we felt prepared and very nervous Summit morning was tough. Waking up in the cold, hiking in the dark, pushing through the altitude, it tested us. But reaching Point Lenana at sunrise together made it all worth it. Watching the sun come up above the clouds is something we’ll never forget. That moment alone made the entire trek special. The guides and crew played a big role in our experience. They were supportive, encouraging, and always checking in on how we were doing. Meals were surprisingly good considering we were on a mountain, and the team kept things running smoothly the whole time. as a couple, this trek felt like more than just a hike, it was a shared challenge, something that pushed us and brought us closer. If you’re looking for a scenic, less crowded alternative to Kilimanjaro, this is a great choice. We’d absolutely recommend Triptick Travels for this trek. It’s not the easiest trip, but it’s 100% worth it.
