We had a wonderfull experience with our guides Franco and Carlos. Both really nice and welcoming people. Our day started of with clear information about the 2 day trip and pick-up (via whatsapp) which was really appreciated. Unfortunately our Tourist Bus had technical issues which caused a 1.5h+ delay, but they got a fix with a new bus! And our tour went on! Carlos was our main guide, he definetely made sure we did not miss anything and made sure not to hurry anyone up. So everyone could walk on their own tempo. He is also really passionated about the andes, the region which he originates from and you can sense it in his passion about the nature itself. Really loved him! We stayed the night at the oasis, which had a 25• pool, but was really primitive, do be prepared. (All families in this region have the same kind of stay, so they are all the same in luxury). On the last day we did the hike up, which was nice as well as the hot springs. When booking this tour: make sure to bring layers (really hot during the day, and cold in the morning) Also, you need to be fit. Shoutout to Carlos (and also Franco) for the unforgetabble experience!
We were so happy witv this tour! The Canyon was beautiful, the weather was perfect, the hotel was very nice and we hikes with the best group. We were also very happy with our guide Franco. He had so much knowledge about the area, and he was really helpful.
We had a lovely time on our Colca Canyon Trip. Our guide Walter was so helpful, friendly and knowledgable. The second day was difficult but we were fuelled with excellent food and good company.
Fidel the guide was super friendly, knowledgeable, and competent with the hiking / guiding side of things. The canyon itself is gorgeous and well worth taking the time for above and beyond just seeing condors at the condor cross viewing point. I think this tour / experience is really let down by a lack of clear advance info. Key points to bear in mind: 1) the trek is very strenuous - very tough even if e.g. you run a 5k in under 30 mins. Lots of slippy gravel downhill on morning 1, pure ~2-3 hours uphill on morning 2 (before breakfast!) 2) you need a head torch for morning 2!! 3) you need plenty of cash to pay for water and snacks along the way + park entry + lunch on day 2 + hot springs + tip for your guide at the end 4) the food quality for provided meals is pretty meh throughout 5) if you are struggling with the physical side, you can take a mule ride up on day 2 for 100 soles - someone in our group did this and actually said it was a really positive experience. Something to keep in mind as this wasn't made clear as an option until they were already physically at their limit... 6) you can rent a bamboo hiking pole for 5 soles - definitely worth doing as there is a lot of slippy gravel terrain underfoot both up and down the canyon All in all a decent tour and a beautiful area, just could do with a lot more advance info to make your decision and be confident the trek is for you! If you are a beginner or not super fit this definitely is not something to sign up for lightly.
This was such an incredible trip. Our guide Franco was phenomenal, so friendly, exceptionally knowledgeable about the area and impeccable English. The hiking was challenging at times but the great views and good company made it worth it. Thank you for making this a great trip Franco!!!
Franco was great, super knowledgeable about the nature and the history of the area. Had a great time!
A very beautiful experience of the Colca Canyon! The trek is truly worth the detour, and Carlos, our guide, provided us with all the necessary information to have the most complete stay possible. Thank you.
A beautiful but challenging route. Thanks to my guide Carlos I was able to complete this beautiful trip.
Great trip, great organisation, great group, great guides (Carlos and Elvis 👍👍👍) , great time. Trekking sticks are very helpful. We could rent some with our guides for 30 soles (proper ones) or 5 soles (bamboo sticks). Can be demanding but any young and moderately fit person should be fine. I am not in great shape but the 3day trek would have been too little hiking for me per day. Be prepared for the height differences especially on the first day.
The Volca Canyon Hike was an incredible experience. The scenery is just amazing. The hike can be a bit tough, so you should have decent fitness level. The tour was very well organised, food and accommodation was good and we had the most amazing guide, Rafael. He shared so many interesting facts about the area and peru.
