Le matin, l'un de nos chauffeurs viendra vous chercher à votre hôtel à bord d'un véhicule confortable. Détendez-vous et profitez du voyage sans avoir à vous soucier de la conduite. Faites les haltes qui vous plaisent, comme à la Quinta da Tôr : près de l'Algarve, vous pourrez visiter ce domaine viticole et y déguster ses vins. We got picked up in a really nice, big Mercedes van. Our driver, Tiago, was great! We chatted with him a bunch during the car ride. We had booked 3 stops (7 hours), but used the time just in Evora (Evora’s a bit out of the way, but we had wanted to see it). Tiago drove us around to the sites and then we had a relaxed lunch (at Mercearia Eborim) and then he picked us up from there. My son loves history and Evora was a highlight for him. Highly recommend!

Our family of 8 adults booked this transfer from Lisbon to the Algarve in June of 2026. Lawrence was our driver, and we couldn’t have been more pleased! He arrived promptly. We had some concerns that we had too much luggage and that we would have to sit with it, but Lawrence didn’t get flustered! He “jengaed” all of it the back and under seats of the van in no time! We didn’t have any strong opinions on where we wanted to stop and we trusted Lawrence to take the lead! Our first stop was the castle at Palmela. We had a coffee, enjoyed the beautiful castle, with it’s stunning views and lovely church. We even had a large group of fencers fencing in many different areas of the castle top! Next we went to Alcácer do Sal. We walked along the river and did a little shopping. It was an extremely pretty town. We had lunch at Cantinho do Churrasco in Castro Verde. Lawrence called ahead to have the restaurant stay open for us. It is just a hole in the wall, but I can genuinely say it was our favorite meal during our 2 weeks stay in Portugal! Simple, traditional, inexpensive, and DELICIOUS!! After lunch, we visited Basilica Real de Nossa Senhora da Conceicao in Castro Verde. It is a stunningly beautiful church with blue tiled panels on the walls. There were monk chants and birds singing! A truly lovely and peaceful experience. Our last stop was Vilamoura Marina. After wandering around the marina, Lawrence drove along the Algarve coast toward Albufeira where our Airbnb was located. What a nice day we had. We can’t say enough about what a wonderful guide Lawrence was. He was warm and pleasant and a great driver. We never felt rushed! Even though he planned to drive home all the way to Porto!!! We felt lucky to see things most tourists don’t. And were really glad we splurged on this transfer instead of taking the train.

We are so grateful to Alfredo for selecting the palaces he did to privately guide us. He created lifetime memories we will cherish. From the arrival into Evora, we saw column ruins from 2000 years ago and angelic singing of local hymns by a local women’s choir. Simply spectacular. The Evora Cathedral was breathtaking with its baroque carvings and rooftop views of the medieval town and valley. We also toured a catacomb room featured in another preserved church in that area. We could’ve spent a couple days in that village as there was so much to see! Thank you to Alfredo!

Alfredo was genuinely interested in creating a tour customized to our specific requests of history, art and culture. He introduced us to Evora, a hidden gem which we could’ve spent at least a full day exploring! Just as we entered the medieval village, there was a local ladies choir singing traditional Portuguese hymns. It was so moving! The Catederal de Evora was filled with reverent gold and wood carved religious relics . We were also awestruck by the view from the roof top! We also toured a catacomb that was within another village church. It was something we have always wanted to see. We perused and bought a lot from the shops and took in the aromas of the chocolate being made in a building from 1733! We also enjoyed our lunch and the variety of Portuguese wines and cuisine. We will be back and hope to request Alfredo. He is witty, gracious and passionate about Portuguese history. We are grateful to him for making our experience a lifetime memory we can reflect on for many years!

Our driver Jose went above and beyond! When he picked us up he came searching for us in the maze of little apartments in Alfama. He opened the car doors always, had the A/C perfect, plenty of cold waters and said we could customize our travel any way we wanted to. I had a sprained ankle so he made sure I was taken care of. He helped us with personal obstacles such as driving us directly to the rental suites office to pay our tourist tax and then drove us directly to the car rental place and didn’t leave us until he knew we were 100% taken care of. He was attentive, considerate and thoughtful the entire day! He told us stories and history as we went along. We felt very well taken care of and it was an absolute pleasure! We highly recommend having Jose as your tour guide and driver for your trip!
