Tout d'abord, nous visiterons le lac Big Almaty, qui est à environ 1 heure de route de la ville d'Almaty. Sur le chemin du lac, vous observerez les belles montagnes, les pins bondés et le paysage. Le lac Big Almaty est un réservoir alpin naturel. Il est situé dans les montagnes Trans-Ili Alatau, à 15 km au sud du centre d'Almaty au Kazakhstan. Le lac est à 2511 mètres d'altitude. Après nous visiterons les sources chaudes d'Alma Arasan. Une gorge pittoresque à Zailiysky Alatau dans le sud-ouest d'Almaty (hauteur ~1780 - 1827 m) près du lac Big Almaty, connu pour ses sources chaudes de radon. C'est une destination de vacances populaire avec la rivière Prokhodnaya, des restaurants, des sanatoriums et des sentiers de randonnée bien entretenus, accessibles toute l'année.

En arrivant au Big Almaty Lake, vous vous demanderez comment il s'est formé comme un Big Lake au sommet de la montagne il y a des centaines d'années. Le lac Big Almaty est un réservoir alpin naturel. Le centre d'accueil est à seulement 30 minutes en voiture d'Almaty." Ayusai" est traduit de la langue kazakhe par "gorge de l'ours", à cause des ours bruns Tian-shan qui vivaient autrefois ici. Les arbres à feuilles persistantes créent de la fraîcheur dans la chaleur estivale, et à chaque pas de plus en plus de nouvelles vues sur les sommets des montagnes et les falaises rocheuses s'ouvrent. Dans certains endroits, vous pouvez trouver de petits ruisseaux, ce qui ajoute un charme particulier à l'atmosphère. Quand vous vous approchez de la cascade, les bruits de l'eau deviennent plus forts, et vous aurez une vue imprenable : des jets d'eau clairs tombent rapidement de la falaise, créant un doux nuage d'éclaboussures qui scintillent au soleil. Cet endroit est idéal pour s'arrêter, profiter du moment et absorber toute la puissance et la beauté de la nature.

It was a relax tour. The tour guide mostly just organized group boarding and alighting from the bus. The itinerary originally included a visit to the hot springs, but the guide told us the hot springs were closed. As a result, everyone waited for one‑and‑a‑half hours at the visitor center before heading back to the city. It would have been better to return directly, since there was practically nothing at the visitor center.
It is worth the early morning start to avoid the crowds later and leaves you time to explore Almaty later in the day. While is advertised as no hiking there is some at the gorge. Our guide Luba was engaging and did a great job.
The drive to Big Almaty Lake included a transfer to another vehicle for the mountain road. The lake itself was absolutely beautiful and definitely worth visiting. Unfortunately, as we were about to leave, the road was temporarily closed because of rocks that had fallen from the mountain. While this was beyond anyone's control, better communication from the tour guide would have made the situation much easier to understand. Our next planned stop was Alma Arasan Gorge, but it was also closed. We waited for around 15 minutes without any explanation. Eventually, the tour guide simply asked everyone to return to the vehicle so we could head back to the city. One of my fellow travelers asked why the gorge was closed and what had happened, but the question was not answered. Throughout the tour, the guide seemed very tired and didn't provide much information about the destinations. Aside from asking if we knew a particular artist and playing music during the drive, there was very little commentary or history shared about the places we visited. While I understand that unexpected closures can happen, clear communication and keeping guests informed are an important part of the tour experience. Overall, Big Almaty Lake is a stunning destination, but I hope the tour company can improve the guide's communication and engagement, especially when unexpected situations arise.
had a wonderful experience with Luba! she was knowledgeable, encouraging & really cheery in general :) it was convenient getting to take the car to see Big Almaty Lake, but pretty tiring to see the waterfalls at Ayusai & Alma-Arasan Gorge. the slight hikes were worth it tho! i would recommend

This way to see and experience Big Almaty Lake was worth it. The view and atmosphere was awesome. We were fortunate that the weather was great during our visit. Although we wish we could stay much longer we just have to leave for the next destination. The tour guide Adam and the driver Sergei were also both excellent in doing their tasks.
