The trip was fine but the explanation lacked detail. We thought the transfer would be to one or more hotels within the city center, not to a bus terminal. And it was not explained online (or if it was it was not prominent) that one could purchase a transfer for such internal routes.
Super easy to figure out and stress free. My luggage was loaded for me and everything inside the bus was very comfortable. It included overhead storage, reclining seats, and air conditioning.
Affordable, convenient and comfortable. There is a taxi queue outside BSI terminal or you can use the Hopp app to get from the terminal to your hotel, etc.
Hello, Thank you for your feedback! We’re delighted to hear that you found our service affordable, convenient, and comfortable. We appreciate you sharing helpful tips with future travelers as well. Thank you for choosing us, and we hope to welcome you back to Iceland for another smooth and enjoyable journey! Kind regards, Zuzanna
I booked this bus online prior to arriving at the airport as it seemed to be the universally used option. Unfortunately, when booking online, there wasn’t an option to specify your exact destination. I just had to book for BSI. Upon boarding the bus, I asked the driver if there were multiple stops in Reykjavik. They said no, just BSI. So we board and wait about 30 min to depart (which is a bummer because it is already 1 am). Once arriving in BSI, we see there are additional buses which are supposed to take you the rest of the way to your accommodation. We ask the driver about this, they take so long to answer that the bus we needed departs. Then they eventually say “oh well you didn’t book the next bus”. So I’m thinking, okay well it’s a moot point now because you’ve taken so long to help that they left, but also I would have paid for it either now, or when booking, or when boarding, if it had ever been presented as an option, especially once I asked about it TWICE. So in short, the process is confusing and the drivers were unhelpful. Also for the price, you wouldn’t think they would also be nickle and dime you to go the last 1 mile to the accommodation. We ended up walking 20 min in the rain at 2 am to our accommodations.
Hello, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re sorry to hear that your arrival transfer did not go as smoothly as expected. When booking through our website, guests have the option to add hotel drop-off during the reservation process. However, as your booking appears to have been made through a third-party platform, this option may not have been available depending on how the booking was set up. We understand how frustrating it must have been to arrive late at night, especially after asking about your destination and not receiving clear guidance regarding the hotel transfer service. We’re sorry that the communication at BSÍ did not meet your expectations and that this resulted in you missing the connecting shuttle. Your feedback about the booking process and the communication from our staff is appreciated, and we will share it with the relevant teams as we continue working to improve the experience for our guests. We’re sorry that your first impression of your visit to Iceland was affected by this situation, and we hope the rest of your stay was much more enjoyable. Kind regards, Zuzanna
Easy!! The process of getting to the Central Bus Terminal was seamless. Everyone we interacted with was very nice. So convenient and the bus was very comfortable.
Hello, Thank you for your kind feedback! We’re delighted to hear that your experience was smooth and convenient from start to finish. It’s wonderful to know that getting to the BSI Bus Terminal was seamless, that our team made you feel welcome, and that you found the bus comfortable. We’re happy we could make your journey an easy and enjoyable one. Thank you for traveling with us, and we hope to welcome you again on your next visit to Iceland! Kind regards, Zuzanna
This was a great way to get into town. It was easy to get to and easy to catch a cab from the bus station.
Easy transfer from straight outside airport exit very easy to find Transferred straight to bus station
Our airport transfer was as expected it should be except for the final stop. Effecient and comfortable to the main bus depot. We were delivered to Reykjavik in a large bus and transfered into smaller buses for the trip through the city. You are not actually dropped off at your hotel. In our case it was a 4 to 5 minute walk and fortunately it wasn't raining, hard. Probably not a big issue if you don't have a lot of luggage and/or are able to make a wee walk. I am not sure one has an alternative unless you opt for a more expensive option. Based on the cost of other options we would most likely use the service again.
My experience is overall very good, but the schedule is not at all clear. We took a shuttle to the airport from Reykjavik at 4:00 AM. We choose a pick-up bus stop in Reykjavik. We are told to be there thirty minutes in advance ... We arrive at 3:32 AM, the bus has left. Except we don't know that, since our bus is supposed to leave at 4:00 AM ... Except it's a shuttle to take at 3:30 AM to arrive at a bus station where our bus to the airport leaves at 4:00 AM ... in short, we were able to take the next one, I thank flybus for that. But you have to know that! If you are not leaving from the main bus station, you have a first bus beforehand that takes you there and you have to take it 30 minutes before departure, not a minute after ... Otherwise the bus to the airport is very comfortable, and it is on time! On the other hand, like everything in Iceland, it is very expensive.
Hello, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re glad to hear that your overall experience was positive and that you found the airport transfer comfortable and punctual and that our team was able to assist you with taking the next available bus. We sincerely apologize for the confusion regarding the pickup time. When departing from a hotel or designated bus stop in Reykjavík, guests first travel by shuttle to the main bus terminal before continuing on the airport coach. We understand that this transfer process and the difference between the pickup time and airport departure time may not have been clear enough, and we appreciate you highlighting this. Your feedback is very helpful, and we will review how we can make this information more visible during the booking process to help prevent similar confusion for future travelers. Thank you again for choosing us, and we hope to welcome you back to Iceland in the future. Kind regards, Zuzanna
Efficient transport system if you know where to go. Getting ticket with color code essential at first level of Southport even if you booked online. If trying to get cruise terminal will first go to central bus station then switch to shuttle to cruise terminal . Was not clear when I booked ticket online about switch. Worked but is a two step process !
Hello, Thank you for sharing your feedback! We’re glad to hear that you found the transport system efficient and that everything worked well during your journey. We appreciate your comments regarding the ticket process and the transfer between buses. For some destinations, including the cruise terminal, passengers do need to transfer at the central bus station to a connecting shuttle. We understand that this two-step process may not have been clear enough when booking online, and we appreciate your suggestion to make the information more visible for future travelers. Thank you for choosing our service, and we hope to welcome you back to Iceland again! Kind regards, Zuzanna
