C'est la municipalité où la pierre a été trouvée à l'origine, bien qu'aujourd'hui elle soit plus connue pour sa proximité avec Guatapé. Elle possède sa propre histoire et sa propre culture et a été partiellement déplacée par la construction du réservoir.
Cette réplique recrée la vieille ville d'El Peñol, qui a été submergée sous les eaux du réservoir dans les années 1970. C'est aussi un arrêt parfait pour acheter des souvenirs.
La Piedra del Peñol, ou Rocher de Guatapé, est un énorme monolithe de 220 mètres de haut, formé il y a des millions d'années. Il est devenu une attraction touristique emblématique en Colombie en raison de la possibilité de l'escalader, en montant 702 marches jusqu'à son sommet, où vous pourrez profiter de vues panoramiques spectaculaires sur le réservoir de Guatapé.
Aujourd'hui, Guatapé est l'une des destinations touristiques les plus traditionnelles et les plus importantes d'Antioquia, offrant des attractions en matière de tourisme religieux, d'agrotourisme, d'écotourisme et de sports d'aventure. I booked this tour for my parents. My parents are old and probably their first and last visit to Colombia. The tour said include pick at the hotel. They waited in lobby of the hotel on time. The service desk of the hotel knew Transport Cars should pickup them. This company left them stranded in the hotel and then they start sending texts saying that nobody show up to billed the tour without provide any service. Thats completely irresponsible and unacceptable, because you already know the names of the person and the hotel. Why you just showed up in the lobby, identify yourself and the company you work for and ask? So, if you read this message think twice in doing business with Transport Cars in Medelllin Colombia and the cheap Viator company.

We confirmed a week in advance, informing you of the tour's contents and the pickup time, but you never responded to our messages. Also, please tell the users that when we arrived to pick you up at your hotel at 7:22 am, you never answered our messages or the more than five calls we made. After waiting 20 minutes and receiving no response, the vehicle left. Then you replied to the WhatsApp message at 8:47 AM, which clearly shows that you overslept and that's why you didn't show up on time. We regret that your parents had to go through this bad experience due to your poor management. If your parents are senior citizens, it is your responsibility to inform us so we can give them preferential treatment. At least if you had responded to the messages when we confirmed your reservation, we would have known all those details. To the travelers reading this review, we invite you to check out our profile and our products, which have excellent reviews where users talk about our services. Don't be fooled by comments from irresponsible people who oversleep and don't show up for the tour and then ask for a refund and blame the transportation provider.

In Guatapé we took a boat ride through the reservoir of La Dama. We could learn the history of some properties and the cross that emerges from the lake, replica where the church lay when the village was flooded. We visited the town of guatapé very picturesque and characteristic by its baseboards. The Rock is an original stone of the place. It has a very interesting story. It has 730 steps. From its summit you can see the reservoir.

Incredible Experience in Guatapé with this Transportation Enterprise! The modern and super comfortable car, with air conditioning that saved the heat of the day. The driver, Juan, was an expert: he picked us up at the hotel on time and told us local stories as we went to the Stone of the Penol. Climbing the 740 steps was worth it, and the return was relaxed with photo stops. I recommend 100% for families, it feels like traveling with friends!
