Excellent tour company. Very organized. Agnes is a great guide. Would recommend the company highly and would definitely use again.
Thank you so much for letting us guide your tour. Agnes is a gem among our guides!
We loved the tour. Our guide was Agnes -super nice guide which always had a smile on her face and she explained us a lot about Iceland. She was simply lovely. The tour was very well organized and we could see a lot of beautiful places and spots. Would highly recommend!
My 18 year old son and I wanted an adventure and spent a week in Iceland. I didn’t want to do the long drive to the South Coast myself, so we did the 2-day small group South Coast tour and Agnes was an outstanding tour guide! She was patient, knowledgeable and made the experience so memorable. Our hotel had ‘shared’ bathrooms (there were several bathrooms) but it actually felt more like being at home with bathrooms just across the hall. Everyone was very quiet and respectful and we never had to wait for a bathroom and never heard any noises outside our room. The view from the breakfast room was beautiful and the gourmet breakfast was fantastic. Overall, awesome experience and I highly recommend David The Guide and this tour.
We did the small group South Beach with Glacier hike. Agnes took 11 of us on the greatest tour. Love this co and Agnes & Iceland
We had an excellent time visiting the South Coast. Our guide was Bright, showed us some unique places other than the regular tour. Skogafoss in sunshine with double rainbow was a unique experience, even for our guide. The only drawback was the quality of our hotel: ee requested private rooms with provate bathroom. Instead we got private rooms with common bathroom.
Hi! August is a very busy season, and sometimes we have to take the lodging that is available. We appreciate your feedback and will make sure we are more clear in the future.
Went with David the Guide for a South Coast tour. It was last minute planned but David helped me perfect with making it a perfect combination with the Glacier Hike. If you're looking for some adventure and not the usual day trip: go for a trip with David (or some of his colleagues!) We went with Sindri and he explained everything perfect. It was so much fun and Sindri was not only bringing us to the spots, but went with us everywhere. We had so much fun and it was definitely something to remember. Highly recommended. Thanks so much guys!
My husband and I just finished our private South Coast tour with Yandy, our amazing tour guide. The tour and our guide were fantastic. Yandy picked us up from our hotel and took us to many wonderful places. He was incredibly accommodating-offering bottles of water and snacks. We finished our tour with a glacier hike which was Yandy’s expertise. He was knowledgeable and kept us safe and entertained the entire way. He is also an amazing photographer. Yandy is an experienced climber, having recently climbed Mount Everest (he has a great story). We could not have asked for a better tour guide. i would highly recommend for any tour in Iceland.
My boyfriend and I made a last-minute decision to go to Iceland and planned the entire trip in two weeks. We used Guide to Iceland to book our 5 day tour and we were fortunate to have David the Guide's Julien on days 3 and 4 of our stay for the two-day South Coast Exploration tour. Day 3 started with our tour guide, Julien, picking us up from our hotel to start our two-day South Coast Tour. We stored most of our luggage in the luggage room of our first hotel and brought an overnight bag to stay over on the South Coast for a night. Our first few stops were to see several waterfalls, including the Seljalandsfoss. Julien gave us an allotted time to explore the area and take pictures before we met back at the bus to stop for lunch at a local restaurant. Next was our main stop for the day: climbing a glacier. Julien was very attentive in making sure that everyone in our tour group put on their hiking and safety gear on properly. He taught us the proper stepping and climbing techniques to make sure we all safely got to the top of the glacier. One of the most fun things we did on the glacier was “viking pushups” in which you do push ups on your ice axe over a stream of fresh glacier water and drink from it. The water was so cold and fresh! After wrapping up on the glacier hike, we went to the Black Sand beach where we saw an incredible cave and took pictures while climbing the rocks next to it. After that, we went back to Hotel Katla, which I loved. The rooms are all wood and you feel like you’re in a cabin. My tour group and I decided to meet up later that night for the buffet dinner in the hotel and get to know it each other a bit more. The next morning, Julien took us to the Glacier Beach. It was amazing to stand next to pieces of ice that towered over me. We then took a 30-minute ride on the Amphibian boat tour through the glacier lagoon. We were able to see icebergs up-close and got some incredible pictures. The guide on the boat even passed around a centuries old piece of an iceberg. After the boat tour, we stopped at pretty awesome hotdog stand. Their barley dog is one of the best vegan foods I’ve ever tasted. The hot chocolate was also very welcoming after holding a piece of an iceberg. We spent the rest of the day checking out a few more waterfalls. By the time we got to the top of the hill I was very thirsty so, yep you guessed it, I cupped my hands and drank from the fresh stream. I wish I could’ve taken that water home. I would definitely recommend using David the Guide for your tour! Shout out to Julien who was an amazing tour guide!
Our guide Julien was fantastic. The group was quite small so you begin to feel like a little family by the end of the trip. We covered a ton of sights with the time we had; the landscape is absolutely incredible. There was ample time given to see everything at each stop as well. The south coast is a must do for sightseeing, and this tour group did an excellent job showing us around.
We had David plan our entire trip and also had some time booked with him as our private guide. It was AMAZING!!! David is a fantastic human and his crew is amazing as well. Robert took us Northern Light hunting. He put the time in to ensure we had a blast and the best possible chance to see the lights. David took us all over the south coast in his sweet Jeep. We did some off road, glacier hiking, ice climbing and ice caving. He even helped locate some great food we never would’ve known about. As awesome as the trip was, David made it better. Even the time in the car was a blast. He had our tours perfectly planned and timed. It flowed perfectly and was such a wonderful experience. When we come back to Iceland in the summer time David will be our go to guide again. Don’t trust anyone else!
