Our touring consisted of an hour and half walking tour of Bordeaux followed the next day by full day wine tasting at three chateau’s. I debated about going with a less expensive, small group wine tasting but in the end opted for the private tour Alessia proposed. It was a big birthday for my wife and I wanted something special and personalized tours appealed to me. I chose wisely. Alessia was unavailable and directed us to her colleague, Guillaume. He is a Fantastic guide who grew up in the area. He is very knowledgeable of the city and wine production from farming to distribution. He is easy to converse with and find common ground. Wonderful sense of humor. The walking tour was excellent and something I would recommend to all Bordeaux visitors as the city is larger than we anticipated and has so much history. There are also many pockets of sites and gorgeous squares that are easy to miss. The following day we started our day of wine tasting with a visit to the monolithic church in St Emilion. Wow! So glad we did this. Most visitors are not aware this exists and fail to get in on the limited visiting. Our wine tasting consisted of visiting three chateaus in the St Emilion and Pomerol areas. Chateau’s Beauregard, Le Chatelet and Beau-Sejour Becot. All had their differences and one highlight was visiting the extensive caves of Chateau Becot. During the day we were able to visit the town of St Emilion for an hour. Great medieval town with light crowds. Would love to visit again and allocate 4 hours to wander and experience a couple of the 20+ wine tastings, bistro’s and wine caves. All in all a perfect day. Memorable and a top travel experience.
We booked a private tour in Saint-Émilion with Taste & Travel during our family stay, and the experience was absolutely perfect. The organization was smooth from start to finish, and our guide was passionate, very professional and above all very pleasant with the whole family. We discovered magnificent wineries, learned a lot about the history of Saint-Émilion and tasted excellent wines in a friendly atmosphere. The pace of the day was ideal, neither too busy nor too fast, which allowed us to fully enjoy the scenery and this beautiful village. An authentic and very well organized experience that we recommend without hesitation to all those who wish to discover the area differently. Many thanks to the Taste & Travel team for a great day! We spent an exceptional day in Saint-Émilion thanks to Taste and Travel! Everything was perfectly organized: the visit to the underground monuments was fascinating, rich in history and very well explained, and the tasting of the Grand Crus was a real moment of pleasure and discovery. Our guide was passionate, professional and very attentive — he captivated the whole family (even the children!) while sharing his love for the region and its heritage. An unforgettable experience that allowed us to see Saint-Émilion in a new light and to fall even more in love with South-West France I recommend Taste and Travel with your eyes closed to all those who want to live an authentic, cultural and gourmet experience!
Paul was a great driver and shared lots of knowledge about the region and he knew about many of the Chateaus in the area as he is a very experienced driver. He showed us local sites and our day was very full in the saint emilion region! He was punctual, friendly and would highly recommend him to friends to use!
We were delighted with our trip with such wonderful guides as Roman and Alesya!!! We fell in love with Bordeaux and its region with all our hearts! Roman and Alesya responded very sensitively to all our wishes, planning our route so that we could fully appreciate the merits of these places and get maximum pleasure from the tour! Professionalism, erudition, good manners, tact, knowledge of the subject within our tour and not only everything was on top! Thank you and we really want to come back next time!
Wow! Wow! Wow! We had a fabulous time with Roman who was our guide to experience the finer tastes of the French cuisine, wine and the beauty of the countryside. In addition to Saint-Emilion, we took several other tours with Roman and we were able to appreciate the culture through his expert relationships he’d curated with the restaurant owners, chefs and vintners. Each meal was thoughtfully paired with wine. As equally as impressive as the food was Roman’s knowledge of the history of Bordeaux and many villages and castles we’d visited. His enthusiasm and passion made for an unmatched travel experience! In summary, this was a small, intimate experience of French culture that provided a nice break from the more cliche tourist experiences, and Roman was as genuine and accommodating as one could hope for. I just wish we had more time to experience other parts of France with him. We highly recommend this tour.
We enjoyed out tour with Alessia very much and are looking forward to more experiences. She was attentive and resourceful.
It’s hard to summarize how amazing our day with Alessia was. From start to finish it was superb. Alessia was so professional, helpful, informative and great fun. We really had the best time.
