Excellent excursion Wendy is an excellent guide highly recommended Gives you detail of all the places And he's always watching his group
Thank you so much. I hope the rest of your holiday went well.
We had such a great day with Wendy! She curated the day to keep kids and grandparents both happy. She was prepared for anything and made the day comfortable and enjoyable all around. Would absolutely recommend to others
Thank you and I do love to be organized.
We really had a fun day with Wendy as our guide. There were 5 of us on this trip. It advertises 8 but we never would have fit in the van with 8. Wendy was organized and ready for us to have a good day. She took us to see the geothermal geyser and mad flats. Then we went to the Maori craft school. Its where students attend for free and learn the crafts of the Maori ancestors. Then we did the Te Puia Maori show. Loved it. For lunch she took us to pick up our Hangi handpies made the traditional way. We were glad she made this arrangement as we thought we were missing out at Te Puia not eating there. This was much better than a buffet, in my opinion. We really enjoyed the show at Te Puia! After all that Wendy dropped us by the beach for ice cream and to hang out for pics of the beautiful beach where everyone was hanging out as it was a Saturday. We loved the entire day. Thank you Wendy!!
You are welcome and I am pleased you tried the NZ icecream.
We had a wonderful time with Wendy discovering the unique history, industries, peoples, wildlife and fauna of New Zealand. Walking through peaceful redwoods, learning about the forestry industry, seeing different neighborhoods, hearing a Maori love story, seeing geothermal mud pools, kiwi bird conservation and learning about the Maori culture at Te Puia. We highly recommend this Wendy and this tour.
Hi Helen Thank you for the great review. I have been thinking of your group in this wild weather.
Great tour and Wendy was an excellent guide. We enjoyed a private van while touring the Turanga region, which was breathtaking. Wendy was from the area that gave us a very informative and knowledgeable experience.
Our day was fantastic with Wendy. We decided she gave the perfect amount if detailed information, very educational but not boring. She also noted two of our 8 passengers were coughing so stopped at a special pharmacy in Rotorua for some New Zealand natural cough syrup. Both stopped coughing for the rest of the day! Others we talked to had similar tours to ours, but we all agreed ours was the best!
The chief and I went with another couple. We were picked up at the wharf and were driven around locally first and then headed out to Rotorua. Our guide was friendly and pointed out various Māori sites along the way. When we got to Rotorua we first were welcomed by the family living there, and invited into their wharnui to see a short show highlighting their customs. We then walked around the beautiful site where there are geysers, and hot mud ponds; very impressive. We then had lunch at the cafe on site and enjoyed everything about it.
Great you enjoyed learning about the Maori culture. Thank you for taking the time to write about your day.
10/10 recommend! As a young family travelling on a cruise ship, Wendy made this tour exceptional! Communication was great and she really tailored the day to activities we would all enjoy. She was very welcoming of our family and we learnt a lot from her commentary along the way. Thanks Wendy!
Thank you Wendy for a great tour of Tauranga and Rotorua Visiting the Māori handcraft Institute, having the chance to see a couple of Kiwi birds and the most impressive of all, the geyser eruptions in Pōhutu geothermal park. Wonderful experience
We had a wonderful time on this trip. Wendy was excellent throughout, being very sympathetic with how she managed my father-in-law and his mobility needs. The pace of the trip was ideal and we were able to enjoy all of the itinerary without feeling rushed. Wendy's commentary was thorough and informative and she was happy to answer any question, however stupid it may have been!
