Family tour in Riyadh Desert Safari
The experience was overall bad, and we returned to the city early, skipping the overnight part because we felt uncomfortable. At this attraction it was only the two of us (women). There were no other tourists. None of the staff, including the main guide, spoke English, despite this being sold as a tourist experience. We were also in an area with no phone signal, so we couldn’t use the internet or contact anyone. The whole experience felt forced and uncomfortable. The main guide pressured us to dance with him and to eat even after we said—well before dinner—that we wanted to go back to the city. He chose to speak only with my friend and ignored me even when I addressed him directly (I understand there may be cultural differences, but it came across as rude). He also insisted that we sit where he wanted, usually right next to him/around him, which made us feel unsafe. One part of the trip was riding quad bikes. It was my first time, and due to the language barrier the guide did not explain clearly how to use the quad bike or the safety instructions, which felt unsafe. Overall, I felt stuck in the middle of the desert without the ability to go back to the city when I wanted. The dynamic with the guide felt like a strange power play, and we paid far too much for what was offered. I would not recommend this experience, especially for women travelers.
Had lots of fun with camel ridiing. Since it was bit short, we were offered a 4x4 dune bashing as compensation. We loved it.
It was such a bad experience. They dont have any people on the ground, they took our money and disappeared from the camp. We had to fix our problems with other agents inside the camp; They didnot answer our calls. Also we waited for 1 hour for a 8 min dune bashing session, the quad bikes stopped working after 10 mins. All and all, do not book any services with them in Riyadh.
Our family were lucky enough to have Bandar as our guide to the Red Sand Dunes on a private tour. Bandar was an exceptional guide and we were humbled by his authenticity and kindness. Tours in Saudi aren’t cheap but we had an excellent day and we appreciated Bandar’s flexibility and outstanding local knowledge. We highly recommend Bandar as a guide. Our teenagers agreed it was a very special day out. We wish we had more days for Bandar to take us out to some more areas. Highly recommend Bandar!!
This was a wonderful morning quad biking in the desert . In addition the 4x4 in the dunes was also fun . Our tour guide was great . We got picked up at our accommodation which made life easy and communication was excellent with the tour group
It's was fun to see the safari and have the Carmel ride. The tour guide is friendly he introduce me many local stuff and social live in city. Beside the Carmel ride, they took me on SUV ride of sand dunes because I didn't do the quad bike. The dunes are breathtaking. They prepare the Aribic coffee and dates for the short picnic. It's super nice trip.
A really good way to spend the morning. We got picked up on time in a good vehicle with plenty of room. Arrived at the site after around an hour and a very brief intro to the quads and we were off. The time on the bikes was plenty and we were left to drive in dunes by ourselves. After the ride there was a chance to sit on a camel for a short stroll guided by a staff member with a rope. On way back we stopped for a drink at Dunkin Donuts paid for us. Overall very good. Some potential improvements - optional helmet on the bikes, tidier dunes - lots of litter, a longer camel ride option over the dunes and finally a better local coffee shop - Dunkin is not good coffee! But I am very glad I did this trip and would recommend it.
We just came back from a wonderful time in the desert. We had a lot of fun & the team take care of us. I would recommend to go for sunset, the photos are nice. The quad in the dunes is a crazy experience. Thank you habibi for this
The red-sand quad biking was awesome, and the tour guide reaching out to move up our tour to a more temperature-friendly time was highly appreciated; however, the camel ride was more like a 5-minute walk on the camel for a photo opportunity (which was actually a 5-star picture), and that was it :( A drink and snacks were offered. The tour guide was punctual and courteous, but a little city background and history along the long drive would make the tour a 5-star tour.
