I booked this expensive tour because the reviews consistently praised Gábor. We were not told until around midnight the night before that he would not be our guide, leaving no practical opportunity to cancel. Instead, we got George, who arrived late and blamed Champions League traffic, even though that event had been known about for months and should have been planned for. The tour itself consisted largely of lengthy, unfocused monologues that often wandered off-topic. The problem is not that a substitute guide was used. The problem is that the change was disclosed so late that we had no real choice. We paid a premium based on Gábor’s reputation and received a very different experience. If Gábor is the reason you’re booking, confirm that he will actually be your guide before committing.
Your hotel was unfortunately an Airport Hotel, where the bigges annual air traffic happend of the year on that day. The Champions League was a mess for all the local transports. Random closures, and directing everyone over new routes. We could send you just 5 minutes before your new pick up time (about 15 minutes delay) about that your driver was on his way. We tried to comply good communication and provide good service for you! We read your letter and we are sorry for your bad experience! Thank you for highlighting! We will review the day with George immediately and consider further acts on it if needed! There were no bad experience from our clients....its time to see what we can do to do it better in the future!
Great trip, Gábor was very friendly and knowledgeable. We would definitely recommend this trip to others, it was great to see more of Hungary outwith Budapest and learn more about the history of the country.
We found our guide Gabriel to be very informative and knowledgeable on all subjects. Visiting small quaint towns and their history added to our enjoyable experience. Countless photo opportunities, Gabriel was happy to allow us to set the pace of the day.
While in Budapest do the site seeing yourself as almost all places to see are walkable or easily accessible by tram or metro. But outside Budapest is also worth seeing, hence this tour practically a must. If you’re a small group, best to get a private tour where you have better flexibility in your itinerary. Before you start the trip, discuss with your guide - in our case Zalto - on tour details like if you want to enter the castles, spend longer in a certain site, suggest place to eat, etc. Manage your time well though.
Dear Rolando, These are wise words to our future clients! Exactly how we bulit up a perfect sightseeing! Together with you! Thank you and see you next time
Great tour with a great guide who speaks very good English. Would recommend this tour and guide to anyone. Thank you for making this trip memorable
We visited the Danube bend and surrounding area with Gabor as our private guide. Gabor's expert knowledge of the geography and local history really brought the tour to life. The restaurant we visited for lunch was amazing, and we enjoyed some local food and a few laughs with our host. Instead of a tour bus, Gabor drove us in a posh air conditioned limo which allowed us to get close to the action. The highlight for me was climbing to the observation deck of the dome of the basilica while my wife and sister enjoyed a cool drink in the nearby cafe. Would recommend this tour, and Gabor in particular as a guide, without reservation. Worth every Florin.
Dear Niki, Your comment is a pleasure to read! We really had great times and fun together! Luckily you were the hero who climed so we had to wait only by some cold drink and celebrate your arrival! :) I hope one day we meet again! have a good day and greetings to the ladies! Gábor
