Itinéraire
Nous passerons par la véritable Avenue des Volcans notée sur Gps comme Avenida de los Volcanes. Sur le chemin, nous nous arrêterons à une station-service pour utiliser les toilettes et acheter quelque chose pour le déjeuner ainsi que suffisamment d'eau et toutes les collations nécessaires pour la journée. Nous roulerons au milieu des volcans suivants (Pasochoa / Rumiñahui et Sincholagua) jusqu'à l'arrivée au volcan Cotopaxi.
Une fois arrivés à cette porte d'entrée, vous aurez la possibilité d'acheter des sacs de feuilles de coca ou des bonbons de coca pour aider avec les problèmes d'altitude, également endroit pratique pour acheter des gants, chapeaux, ponchos fabriqués par un local. En entrant par ce côté moins touristique nous évitons aussi de manquer du temps en faisant la queue pour nous enregistrer avec la porte des rangers du parc.
Une fois dans le parc national, nous commencerons par l'expérience de promenade à cheval. Se préparer avec l'équipement fourni comme casque et poncho. Et puis nous décollons le long de ce côté moins visité du parc national avec des vues incroyables et des possibilités de se connecter avec la nature mère. Pendant le voyage à cheval, vous pouvez laisser tous les objets ou effets personnels non nécessaires au transport que nous utilisons ce jour-là. Au retour de la randonnée à cheval, nous nous dirigerons vers le parking situé sur 15000 pieds ou (4600 mètres) d'où nous commençons la randonnée à Refugio José Rivas (Basecamp).
Nous roulerons pendant environ 30 minutes après la randonnée à cheval de 12000 pieds à 15000 pieds où nous nous garerons et commencerons une randonnée de 1,5 mile jusqu'à Basecamp. Expérience et vues incroyables. Comme être sur une autre planète.
Nous partirons par le côté touristique pour retourner à Quito.

Heure de prise en charge entre 7h00 et 7h30 selon votre emplacement dans la ville principale de Quito. Cette info sera confirmée avant 19h la veille lorsque nous connaîtrons le nombre final de participants. Si vous étiez situé à l'extérieur des zones de ramassage telles que : Cumbaya, Pifo, Tumbaco, Puembo, Sangolquí ou Tababela (zones aéroportuaires), nous pouvons organiser le ramassage et le dépôt pour un supplément ou nous pouvons organiser un endroit pour que vous nous rencontriez par Uber.

This was an exceptional experience -the horse riding and volcano hiking were both so enjoyable and extremely well organized by this operator. Adrian my guide was simply the best. On time pick up, courteous, great driver and good conversation with interesting facts about Ecuador. He delivered me to the horses and helped me get ready, and then paced me up Cotopaxi to basecamp. He then went above and beyond and made a stop at the Laguna so I could see the birds and other wildlife. He never missed a great photo op and his shots were magnificent…so grateful. 100% recommend this tour and the brilliant Adrian.

We had an awesome experience with Jorge. We were so excited to ride horses around Cotopaxi. The horse are well taken care of and they were easy to ride. The trek was very peaceful and beautiful. After we went on a hike around the lagoon limpiopungo lagoon at 12000 feet lower part of the volcano. And we are happy we chose that option so we know what to expect when we come back to trek up to the base. Jorge was very knowledgeable, friendly. We would be reaching out again for a future tour.

Our experience at Cotopaxi with Jorge exceeded all expectations. Cotopaxi is an absolute must do when visiting Ecuador!! The scenery is breathtaking, and the whole experience is unforgettable. From pick-up to drop-off, everything was well organised, communication was excellent, and we felt like we were in great hands throughout the day. The horseback ride was a real highlight, with well cared for horses and patient, helpful guides who made everyone feel comfortable, regardless of experience. We would highly recommend this company and wouldn't hesitate to book with them again!

The drive out isn't so long, so that's great. The horseback ride was fun. It was beautiful although very cloudy so we couldn't see much. The hike to base camp was difficult but if you slow it's okay. Again, so cloudy but still amazing. You can eat some soup and have tea at base camp if you don't want to haul lunch with you. Expect to pay $.50 every time you have to use the bathroom 😂. The guide, Dario, was nice and attentive.

Great way to experience Cotopaxi! The horseback ride was amazing. When we went to hike, there was freezing rain and fierce winds. We wished we had known beforehand to bring appropriate layers of trekking gear. Also, hand sanitizer and coins to use the toilet come in handy. Some braved the cold wet weather and hiked, while many stayed on the bus. Despite the weather, this is a very good tour to see the natural beauty of the national park.

Going the less common way into and up Cotopaxi was well worth the trip. Just make sure you are ready for the sudden season change!

What an amazing day! I would 100% recommend this tour — from start to finish it was extremely well organized. I felt looked after, and everyone was so friendly and welcoming! I have very little experience with horses, but I felt very comfortable. The tour up the mountain was beautiful, and I was able to set the pace (I never felt rushed in the slightest). 10/10 day! I would absolutely do it again!

Wow. What an experience. Our driver and guide gracefully led us through a very challenging adventure to the base camp of Cotopaxi. We rode beautiful horses, bounced our way up to the clouds, fought the wind and learned so much during our day trip. Thank you for the extra gloves and encouragement along the way!
