Roiman was an excellent guide in Palenque. We learned so much and he was super engaging with our entire group!
Roiman was a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide, making sure that we understood more than just the ‘facts’ about life in Palenke. He showed us the spirit, culture and ways of life of the people who live here and their history. A wonderful experience that I would recommend to anyone who wants to understand what being from Palenke means and what life is like there.
Very nice way to get to understand the unique history, heritage and Resilience of Palenque, with Roiman who grew up there.
Unfortunately, the tour fell flat for me. The one bright spot was watching the children dance and engage with the audience — that was genuinely the highlight of the experience. At $150, the tour didn’t come close to matching its price. Given what was actually offered, I’d value it closer to $40. Palenque has such a rich, powerful history, and I went in excited to dive deeper into its culture. But the tour barely scratched the surface — it never captured the depth or significance that makes this place so remarkable. With more storytelling, interactive elements, and cultural immersion, this could have been a truly memorable experience. As it stands, it left a lot to be desired.
The tour was disappointing and honestly quite boring. The only enjoyable part was watching the kids dance and interact with the audience. I paid $156, and unfortunately, the experience did not feel worth that price—I would value it closer to $60. The history of Palenque is beautiful, powerful, and absolutely worth learning about, but I was expecting the tour to provide a much deeper and more authentic cultural experience. Unfortunately, I did not feel that the richness of Palenque’s culture was truly represented or brought to life during the tour.
Very good experience and our guide was amazing too
