Visite de 11 églises rupestres monolithiques et musée à Lalibela et église rupestre avec des momies





Description
Cette visite unique de 2 jours est une visite guidée de 11 églises monolithiques creusées dans la roche au 12ème siècle. Ces églises de Lalibela ont été construites comme une nouvelle Jérusalem au moment où Jérusalem était inaccessible. Les visiteurs seront pris en charge à l'aéroport, déposés à leur hôtel pour le déjeuner par eux-mêmes, puis emmenés dans le groupe d'églises du Nord, suivi d'une visite du musée. Le 2ème jour commence par un voyage de 42 kilomètres vers l'église Yimrehane Krestos construite dans une grotte. Cette belle église construite en bois et en pierre est antérieure de quatre-vingts ans aux églises taillées dans le roc de Lalibela. Au fond de cette grotte, on peut voir certains des restes mumifiés vieux de plusieurs siècles de 5500 pèlerins. Un village à proximité est facultatif car le visiteur retourne à Lalibela pour le déjeuner à leur hôtel et la visite de l'après-midi du groupe d'églises du sud-est et de Bet Giyorgis (Saint-Georges) construit en l'honneur de Saint-Georges, le saint patron de l'Éthiopie. La prise en charge a lieu le lendemain matin après le petit-déjeuner pour le transfert à l'aéroport.

An amazing place. Unique in many ways. Worth going there anytime, but Timket is best. Colourful, music and singing, the tradition, the history, the UNESCO class architecture. Plus the market and the little climbing to the monastery at 3000 m!
