Tour bus was the sudatorium!

The heater was on during a 1 hour ride to Tivoli, most of my party which was 7 people were saturated, and the 3 grandparents light headed after we left our meetup point and were only told the AC was not working and as an added treat the heater was stuck to high. This was seriously dangerous for my party with 3 people nearing their 70's As we entered the highway we were told at this point it would be fixed after the first leg our tour at Hadrian's Villa was complete! That portion of the tour was rigorous and In hot temps only adding to the already sauna( sudatorium) conditions we withstood to get there. We finally finished the first leg only to find the AC was minimally fixed , just the heat turned off(🙏🏼) but no vents worked and most people were still suffering from the poor AC. The guides were fine, but we were left no options. My family came to see the fountains and by the time this portion came about they were ready to pPUT AND SKIPPED the entire gorgeous villa. Our only highlight was the reservation we made separately at Tiverna Di Dracula. This helped us cool down and enjoy a lovely meal. This was a big let down after so many tours booked with Viator. My daughter who was celebrating her 15th birthday wanted to have both her grandmas for photos at these once in a lifetime villas and she missed that chance

Note that there is plenty...

Note that there is plenty of walking on this tour. Hadrian's villa is larger than I expected (maybe 5km of walking over an hour or so) and the villa Desti has a lot of stairs if you want to go into the garden (which you should!). That being said, it was a good tour! Nice pace and informative of all the different aspects of both the Roman era and the renessaince. If you are taking the trip in the summer I recommend bringing a parasol or umbrella to protect from the harsh sun. There are plenty of water fountains on the route, so bring a water bottle. The fountains in the villa desti will really help you cool down at the end of the tour. We went with the included lunch option. The food was nice but more importantly it is a great moment to get to know your fellow travellers, exchange experiences and tips about Rome and other trips.

An excursion that is worth doing.

I loved both the Villa of Hadrian and the eastern city. Especially thanks to Marta, the guide, who was very cool. The food they offered was very tasty and abundant; we decided to have it there, and it was a positive choice.

One of Rome’s Best Experiences

This tour of Trivoli was incredible. You meet outside a metro station, a comfortable bus took us 45 minutes to Trivoli and you tour Hadrian’s Villa - an excavated former Emperor’s palace complex. Our guide Joseph was highly knowledgeable of the site. after a lunch break and some free time in the town of Trivoli, the tour entered Villa d’este - the magnificent gravity powered fountains and the intriguing water Organ playing music were incredible. I would give the tour my highest recommendation for Rome visitors!

No Lunch...

Despite booking with lunch included, we were not on the list for lunch and had to find our own. Other than that, the tour was good

A beautiful view of the gardens and villas

Tivoli is a charming city with an incredible history. Hadrian’s villas were a marvel of ancient engineering and the garden at Villa del Este was especially lovely. Our guide was very kind — my husband was more interested in the gardens than the villas and she allowed us to explore more on our own while still providing clear times and places for us to meet. The bus was comfortable and the driver was safe and efficient.

Great time in Tivoli

Great tour of the sites. I especially liked Villa D' Este with its fabulous fountains. Our guide, i forget her name we did the tour on June 1st if that helps, she was great super informative. The included lunch was great too! It was 3 courses in a tucked away family run restaurant. Superb.

Wonderful Tivoli experience

Wonderful visit to the Tivoli Villas todsy. Our guide Joseph was very knowledgeable - he is a native of Tivoli and was meticulous in giving us the history. He gave us enough free time to explore on our own with detailed instructions regarding where we should meet .

amazing day trip from Rome

this tour includes visits to two fascinating villas. If stairs and hills and walking, some distance are a problem for you. This tour is not for you. The grounds of the Villa.d’Este is amazing.
