A day to remember!

I am traveling with my 21 year old daughter, and this has been by far our favorite experience. Miguel and Ani were wonderful hosts and teachers. From the amazing homemade meal for lunch to feeding the llamas and alpacas (and a surprise baby burro visitor) to learning the entire process of dyeing, spinning, and weaving we were 100% engaged. We were completely immersed in the process rather than just spectators. I can’t recommend this enough and if we were to come back to the Cusco region, we would certainly come back. Can’t recommend this activity enough—it’s great for anyone ages 10 to 100!

Amazing!!! 11/10!!! Perfect for anyone interested in yarn, textiles, or crafting in general!

I had an amazing experience at the textile workshop with Andean Colors! First, they helped me arrange a private taxi from my hostel to the workshop, and then from the workshop to the airport! As soon as I stepped out of my taxi, Paulita handed me an armful of grass and said we were going to feed the llamas, and I knew it was going to be an incredible day. Then I had lunch with Paulita and Miguel and another guest, and it was delicious and very authentically Peruvian! My workshop was with Paulita, and she did an incredible job involving me in the whole process, from learning how to clean wool, to spinning it into thread, to dying it with different natural materials, and then weaving my own bracelet! And I got to keep the wool we dyed! Paulita also showed me how to tell the difference between real alpaca and acrylic yarn. It was honestly one of the most incredible days I've ever had. Also, learning about Andean Colors' mission to help women provide for themselves and their familiar was really amazing. If you want to buy any authentic alpaca garments or souvenirs on your trip to Peru, I highly recommend waiting until you get here! Their boutique is amazing, and everything there is made by one of the women working at Andean Colors and helps them directly. Thank you so much for offering this incredible experience!

Unforgettable experience against an amazing backdrop

The experience is a must! Miguel and Paulina ran a well paced, fun, immersive workshop against an amazing backdrop! The home cooked food was a perfect treat. We saw an eagle soaring through the sky during our meal. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the region. Thank you again to our wonderful hosts and driver Juan Carlos who got us safely there and back to Cusco.

Intimate, Peaceful, Engaging

Wow what a beautiful experience! The views alone from the workshop alone were incredible but the experience was phenomenal on top of that. The hospitality first off far exceeded my expectations. They prepared a delicious meal for me when it is notoriously hard to prepare food I can eat and Miguel and Paulita were so warm and welcoming. The experience of learning at the hands of Paulita how to clean, dye and weave the wools was fun, straightforward and engaging. Listening to Paulita's stories and learning the ancestral techniques she was taught by her grandmother was a beautiful way to connect to the culture we were visiting. If you are looking for an intimate, crafty experience in a gloriously peaceful setting, absolutely sign up for this tour. Plus meeting the llamas and alpacas the wool came from was a huge bonus.

Amazing cultural experience

This experience was fantastic all around. The scenery itself blew us away. Miguel, Lizbeth and the staff were welcoming and patient. We have so much respect for the traditional textile production methods because of the hands on activities from cleaning, spinning, and dying wool. We also learned a lot about the local geography and history. I would recommend Andean Colors to anyone, even if they are not a fiber enthusiast.

A Magical Morning

We had our textiles class and lunch today. Honestly first impressions was the absolutely stunning backdrop, even by Sacred Valley standards it was breathtaking, which is a great bonus because the class is semi outdoors. Feeding the alpacas and llamas was good fun and Thomas the llama is so friendly he will kiss you! Miguel and Polita were very patient and friendly. Miguel spoke good English and was a great teacher and the experience really opened our eyes about the organic and authentic ways of producing alpaca wool products. Lunch was delicious, especially the soup. I just wish there was more of it! Overall would highly recommend!

A perfect afternoon with Miguel

This place was an alpaca/llama farm. It was located in the most beautiful setting. First we had a delicious lunch with hot soup and a chicken, cauliflower potato dish. Then Miguel taught us the entire process on how to dye and weave the alpaca wool. It was amazing! He was funny and very interesting. It was my favorite afternoon. I highly recommend this activity.

Miguel is an awesome...

Miguel is an awesome guide!! He cooks for us (which is delicious btw) and taught us all about the basics of weaving and dyeing, basically the process from start to finish of making a bracelet. Miguel also shared with us the purpose and mission of this social enterprise and how it supports the local community. Great view btw, a nice change in pace from sightseeing, would recommend!
