This excellent whole day tour took us to some beautiful small towns on the island of Tenerife. Our guide, Angel, gave us lots of information before we arrived at each location and then gave us time to explore at our own pace. Angel had a good sense of humour and very detailed knowledge of the island where he was born. The transport was good and Angel drove with great care on some very winding roads! A great way to see the island and to learn about its history, culture and food. Many thanks to Angel for an excellent and memorable day.
My wife and I signed up for the two “round the island” tours hosted by Raphael, who is a very pleasant and enthusiastic host. As we were staying in Son Bou and had decided not to hire a rental car ( good decision) we joined these two tours which currently run on a Wednesday and a Sunday but with different itineraries. Menorca is blessed with an efficient public transport system so trips using the local bus to Ciutadella and Mahon augmented the very enjoyable “round the island” tours. Collectively the tours cover most of what you would want to see whilst on the island visiting a range of different beach resorts, inland towns and both Ciutadella and Mahon. Both coffee stops and lunch enroute are factored into the itinerary (at an additional cost) but proved very good value for money ( a three course meal with wine and water was €18 per person. Raphael is a very enthusiastic host and very much enjoys playing you his Julio Iglesias CD’s during the bus journey, someone he met many years ago in Hong Kong. During the tours visits are made to the gin distillery in Mahon and the cheese factory in Alaior but just for sampling with the opportunity to buy but with no hard sell. We thoroughly enjoyed our two tours with Raphael which represent fantastic value for money with a full day trip costing €32 per person and we would highly recommend it to anyone who prefers not to hire a car during their stay.
Tenerife has more to offer than cheap beer and sunshine. Angel introduced us to the Beautiful scenery in the mountains, pretty little coastal and inland towns and some great suggestions for places to eat and drink.
Had very nice weather. The guide talked very interesting and brought me to different places. Had free time, got a good look at the island and its people.
Angel is a great guide and an excellent driver. Although there were only 2 of us, we went around in his minivan. He even changed the itinerary according to our wishes. I think we saw all the main sights on the island. We had just the right amount of time everywhere and we could have stayed longer if we had wanted. Angel was very informative and funny. I highly recommend this tour if you want to see what Tenerife has to offer.
A most enjoyable day trip right round the island. Our guide Angel was most informative and friendly and by the end of the day we felt we had seen all the most important and beautiful sights of Tenerife.
Had a great day out in the mini bus visiting the beautiful places in Tenerife. First stop was Santiago to view the cliffs for 15 minutes. After that we drove up to a viewing point where we stopped for coffee and beautiful views. We tried the local coffee which was quite sweet but tasted good. In the shop next door there was free tastings of the local dips, honey and wines and spirits. Went on to visit the little town where the dragon tree was. So peaceful there. After that we went to Puerta de la Cruz which was lovely, with lots of shops, restaurants and quiet squares. Our final stop was in a little town to visit an old church. We enjoyed our day and the guide was very informative.
Fantastic tour with an excellent guide, it’s hard to know where to start! Every stop is well explained with the perfect amount of time planned to enjoy it. As Angel says, you own your time, so if you want more or less at any particular point, that is an option as well. You will not be disappointed!
Great to get an overall of the island and history. So much to see, if I get back I now can decide where next to stay.
It was a real pleasure listening to Angel’s descriptions and explanations of the places we were visiting. I have experienced many tour guides through my life, and I can confidently rate him as the very best. His knowledge of history, social matters, etc. is way up there. It was a pleasure to listen to him. And his courtesy, open mindness , and attention are impeccable. If you really want to have a fun day and learn a lot about Tenerife, hire him! He is worth every euro.
