Il y a la possibilité de faire une pause à Skuon, affectueusement surnommé Spiderville Cambodia, l’endroit populaire pour les voyageurs cambodgiens et étrangers où il est possible de goûter à la délicatesse locale de la tarentule frite et d’autres insectes frits. Nous faisons un petit arrêt pour vous émerveiller autour de ce marché de Spider Town, vous pourrez également goûter à divers fruits locaux de saison de la région et des îles du Mékong. Cependant, si vous ne voulez pas goûter à l’araignée, au grillon, au scorpion, à la sauterelle ou à d’autres insectes, c’est aussi un bon endroit pour prendre des photos.
C'était une ancienne route d'Angkor et nous nous arrêtons à Kampong Kdei pour voir l'un des anciens ponts d'Angkor construits au 12e siècle. Spean Praptos ou résident local appelé Dragon Bridge, il a plus de 20 arches et est un spectacle spectaculaire, renforçant l'impression que les Khmers étaient comme les Romains d'Asie du Sud-Est. Le pont est en bon état et a l'air impressionnant.
Ensuite, nous nous rendrons au village khmer typique de Kompong Khleang où vous visiterez l’un des villages les plus grands et les moins visités du Grand Lac Tonlé Sap. Vous prendrez un bateau en bois pour vous rendre au village où vous aurez un aperçu de la vie quotidienne au Cambodge, et découvrirez un mode de vie étonnant et différent dans le plus grand lac d’eau douce. Vous aurez un aperçu fascinant de la vie locale en explorant les maisons sur pilotis qui, pendant la saison sèche, mesurent 8 m de haut, mais pendant la saison des pluies, elles ne sont qu’à 1 ou 2 mètres au-dessus du niveau de l’eau. Explorez le magnifique paysage de la forêt de mangrove inondée et découvrez cette incroyable barrière naturelle contre les inondations. Dans le village, des animaux, des cochons, des chiens, des poulets, des canards et bien sûr des humains vivent, tous en compétition pour l’espace dans ces incroyables villages flottants. C’est une expérience unique offrant une grande aventure en plein air dans la campagne de Siem Reap, c’est certainement l’un des points forts d’un séjour au Cambodge.

- De janvier à juin, c'est une période cruciale dans tous les villages flottants de Siem Reap, car le niveau de l'eau commence à baisser et offre aux touristes une nouvelle perspective. Bien que le paysage pittoresque de la communauté flottante puisse perdre un peu de son charme pendant cette période, les visiteurs ont toujours la possibilité de s'immerger dans la vie quotidienne des villageois vivant pendant la saison sèche. La saison sèche dans les villages flottants n'est peut-être pas le moment idéal pour prendre des photos parfaites, mais elle offre l'occasion d'assister à un aspect de la vie quotidienne du village qui n'est généralement pas vu. La voie navigable est très étroite en raison du retrait des eaux et devient un canal qui traverse le lit du lac auparavant submergé. Comme elle est étroite, le bateau se déplace beaucoup plus lentement.

We’ve had a great day with Kong our driver. We booked our drive last minute and he was at the airport ready to take us from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap. Well priced and at all times he was accomodating to us all, kept us safe and we shared many laughs along our journey. It felt like we had our own personal tour guide going through the towns on our way up to Siem Reap. We stopped along the way for food as he knows the best places to eat & showed us some other historical places along the way. The knowledge he has for his country has helped us have more of an understanding and appreciation for Cambodia. We appreciate every minute we spent with Kong and cannot thank him enough for looking after us! 11/10 recommend asking for Kong to take you on your next trip.
Had an 8 hour drive with Kong who was very friendly, passionate about his country, knowledgeable and honest. We arrived to Cambodia an hour earlier than expected and kong was already there waiting for us. During the drive I am sure we were those annoying tourists wanting to stop every hour or so to sight see, but Kong was very welcoming and provided us with that unique local insight when he could and was honest when he couldn’t. Kongs English was easy to understand and it was great having him to help translate/teach us some Cambodian during our drive, which came in handy with our future interactions with other Cambodians. 5/5 would recommend and hire again.
Kong met us at the Techo airport ready to go. On the drive to Siem Reap he talked about history of the area, provided water, took us to a great lunch, stopped at historical sites. Driving was excellent and had us at the accommodation on time. Kong also gave me a quick lesson in Khmer so I now know how to greet the local. Very informative and relaxing experience, recommend highly.
We did the transfer from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap with some individuals stops. Mr Sok did some research in advance and proposed to change the time table a day before our transfer, so we had the chance to have a short breakfast at the hotel instead of starting our tour without a coffee. The tour was well organized and Mr Liu was a very secure driver and gave us a lot of interesting background information about the regions we passed. He also proposed a good quick lunch stop at the right moment. We were so happy so we ordered Mr Liu also for the transfer to the airport. It was a real pleasure to explore Cambodia with him and we will certainly book again for our next Cambodia visit.
Great experience well looked after by Mr Sok’s team ..Mr Kong drove us from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh and was a gentleman. Mr Sok and his team looked after us with other tours , they were always pleasant and very informative.

The trip between Phnom Penh was very relaxing. Tony the driver was knowledgeable and spoke excellent English and was a steady safe driver, aware of what was going on around him so no heavy footed breaking, so I even enjoyed a deep sleep for a couple of hours. The icing on the cake was the visit to the Tonle Sap Lake and boat ride through the Kampong Pluk / Floating Houses and sampling freshly smoked mok fish. Highly recommend Tony and booking a private taxi to get between Phnom Penh and Siem Reap.
