Itinéraire
Nous commençons notre voyage par un avant-goût de chorreadas, une tortilla traditionnelle costaricienne de maïs « versé » servie fraîchement par un vendeur ambulant. C’est l’introduction parfaite aux saveurs de la région.
Notre prochaine étape propose l'emblématique caldosa, un mélange unique de croustillants croustillants de maïs garnis de ceviche costaricien. Ce plat de rue classique est un incontournable!
Admirez la beauté de Jacó en vous promenant le long de la plage, en admirant les peintures murales vibrantes et l'art public de la région. Cet arrêt nous permet de nous imprégner du paysage naturel et culturel.
Le jeudi, nous visiterons le marché fermier local, où vous pourrez explorer les produits frais, les produits artisanaux et l’atmosphère animée de la vie communautaire de Jacó.
Après la promenade, nous nous arrêterons chez un autre vendeur pour déguster un chiliguaro – un coup de feu costaricien à base de moonshine local, de piment et de Tabasco.
Détendez-vous dans un charmant restaurant en bord de mer. Ici, nous savourerons des boissons rafraîchissantes et des plats de fruits de mer préparés avec les prises locales les plus fraîches.
Pour ceux qui ne peuvent pas se lasser de cette boisson costaricienne audacieuse, nous ferons un deuxième arrêt pour une touche différente sur le chiliguaro.
Dans un bar local préféré, nous siroterons une Michelada classique, une boisson rafraîchissante à base de bière, et dégusterons un copieux chifrijo, un mélange savoureux de chicharrones (porc croustillant) et de frijoles (haricots).
Nous terminons sur une note sucrée avec la visite d'un vendeur de desserts bien-aimé pour Churchill, une friandise costaricienne de crème glacée avec des couches de lait condensé, de la glace rasée et des garnitures de fruits.
Tout au long de la visite, je partagerai des idées sur la géographie, l’histoire, la culture et l’art de Jacó, ainsi que des anecdotes et des histoires personnelles sur la ville. Tout au long du parcours, je mettrai en valeur l’art public, les bâtiments importants, les restaurants authentiques et les meilleures boutiques de souvenirs uniques, fabriqués localement.

Great tour to good food spots I probably wouldn’t have gone on my own. It inadvertently ended up being a private tour, and Josue was great at telling me not only more about Jack but Costa Rica in general. Despite it being just the two of us, I had a great time and learned a lot. Would recommend for solo travelers and groups alike.

We had a wonderful time on the Costa Rica food tour with Josue. He went above and beyond with showing us some of the best food spots in Jaco but also with being extremely knowledgeable about the culture, history, animals, and any questions we had about the country in general. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting town. The only regrettable part was that we did this tour on our last day and he gave so many local food recommendations that we will have to save for next trip!

Let me start off by saying my tour guide Josue was the best. He was very pleasant, funny and knowledgable. He convinced me to drink beer which I hate! He was delightful and easy to talk to. He told me about the many murals that are painted around town including the one of the direct descendant of Pastor Diaz. The tour itself is ideal especially if you're open to trying new foods. I had caldosas at Picarita's, patacones, which are DELICIOUS (can't remember the name of the place) and beer randon at Amudio's and a Winston Churchill! This is a walking tour so be advised if you have any conditions.

You can tell he knows the area really well, and I learned a lot about Jacó while trying some really good local food. I liked that it wasn’t just about the food, it was also a walking tour around downtown. He pointed out different places around town, shared local recommendations, and we even stopped in a souvenir shop, which was a nice little addition. We also ended the tour with dessert, which I wasn’t expecting and thought was a fun surprise. The whole experience felt like a great value for the price. There was plenty of food, and I left feeling like I got to experience much more of Jacó than I would have if I had explored on my own. I was traveling solo from the U.S. and I felt safe and comfortable the entire time. Josue was friendly, laid-back, professional, and made the tour feel really easy and enjoyable.
