Zamani was a perfect guide. Was waiting patently when we got off the ship. Off we went to 1000 hills and saw a great marriage proposal play. Then to the Lion park after picking up apples to feed the elephants! That was a highlight of the day, so fun. We had lunch at a gas station area with fast foods, which was perfect not to eat up too much time. After feeding the elephants we headed to Tala Game Reserve. Private guides have gotten to where they reverse the order the big busses are taking so we were never with big crowds. Zamani was expert at hunting down the animals on this Reserve. We saw zebras, wildebeest, ostriches, and followed giraffes and got great photos. We finally found the rhinos and they grazed right up to the car. He never gave up looking for them and it was great, we saw about 6 and just sat in the quiet evening as the sun sat watching all the different animals graze. The back drop was a lake and mountains which made for amazing photos! We had a great time with Zumani, he made the day very fun and had great stories to tell and lots of information about South Africa and the Zulu. You won't regret booking with him!
Our guide Zamani told us to buy apples to feed the elephants, inspiring!, spent quite a bit of time feeding them then hung with a lioness for a while, exhilarating, did not have to deal with crowded jeeps saw everything from the comfort of a front seat in a comfortable car, saw more animals than I can name including a crash of rhinos! Wonderful, best guide ever!
Absolutely wonderful trip of a lifetime. Tour guide was so educational and friendly. We would do this tour again.
This was a great experience. Jumani was an amazing guide and gave us a great overview around the history of Durban. Best part was feeding the elephants. Would do this all over again!
I apologise for my tardiness in submitting this review. I wanted to give a big shout out to Zamani from Afro Zulu Tours who was our special guide on our tour of Durban and surrounds, including our trip to the Tala Game Reserve. Zamani went and beyond to connect with us in difficult circumstances (because we were travelling on the cruise ship Queen Mary 2 and had no internet or local phone communications). He was the best storyteller I have ever met and kept us enthralled by his account of Zulu history while managing to show us many fascinating highlights of Durban city and surrounds. I believe Zamani provided a far superior experience to that provided to many of the other Queen Mary 2 passengers. Bravo Zamani you are the best! My husband Graham and I wish you every success in the future!
Ms Susan. Good evening.. I hope you are well. It's great to hear from you. Thank you so much for a great review and traveling with us...keep well greetings to Mr Graham.
Accompanied by the best tour guide we could ask for, Zamani, so informative and passionate about his work. The experience will definitely last a lifetime. Thank you Zamani!!!
