What a wonderful experience, from the very capable pilots to the friendly staff at the Taku Lodge, this experience was amazing. We even got to view up close and personal the bear that visits there every time they cook salmon. A great experience altogether.
My favorite excursion in Alaska! This is a must do! The seaplane flew over glaciers with breathtaking views of Alaska wilderness. Once you land at Taku lodge the staff greets you with salmon cooked over a fire outdoors and delicious sides and drinks. They give you the history of the lodge and land while also offering a forest tour. We had Colin as our guide and he was engaging and very knowledgeable. The place is clean, wonderful food and fantastic people who run it. Book this tour you will love it!!!
Stunning and one of a kind views, narrated and informative air tour, fresh homemade food, and included a ground level plant, rainforest, and historical guided tour. We even picked and ate wild blueberries! It’s a Gods country view and way to be one with nature without too large of a crowd at the lodge. The excursion was just right for length of time, size of group, and not feeling rushed. This trip was easy to book, smoothly navigated, roomy flight with everyone getting a window, modern bathrooms, beautiful flower gardens and fire pit, and nice seating all around and in hidden spots too. The Taku Lodge and Wings Airway team members are warm, professional and knowledgeable. They care about their guests as well as keeping the historical significance and contemporary experience a connected and meaningful adventure. Elders, adults with varying mobility capacities, and children were all observed as welcomed, comfortable, and well taken care of. And the gift shop is amazing too with many unique gifts including Indigenous (Alaska Native) beadwork. :)
Loved, loved, loved this trip! Taku Lodge is so cool. The staff and food were excellent. Beautiful surroundings in an amazing setting on a beautiful lake between 2 glaciers. The trip there was on a sea plane captained by a great pilot. This was certainly one of the highlights of the Juneau portion of our trip.
This trip is simply great. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. There was a mix-up on reservation time (my fault) and they worked hard to get our family of 13 people out at the same time - big time Kudos for that. Pilots were great and knew their stuff. The salmon lunch was delicious!! And... the scenery and overall experience steals the show!!
This excursion was worth every single penny!! The views were absolutely breathtaking and definitely a once in a lifetime experience. It was very intimate, relaxing, and overall perfect!
The flight was fantastic! Our pilot, Arne, was incredibly experienced. The lodge is classic sitting on beautiful grounds directly across from the glacier. The salmon lunch was delicious.
Amazing experience from seaplane ride to visiting the Lodge! Beautiful views of the glaciers and such a smooth ride! Taku Lodge is so cute and it was cool to learn the history of why it is there. The fresh salmon and lunch was delicious!
What an amazing experience! We had little John as our pilot and it was such a smooth flight. The scenery was breathtaking, the food at the lodge was absolutely the best salmon meal I have had and we even took a small hike around the property. I wish I could have stayed a few more hours.
Our favorite tour of our Alaska cruise. Beautiful scenery and seeing the glaciers from above is a once in a lifetime. Our pilot John was very reassuring about the flight to and from with incoming weather.
