Sydney et Bondi Big Bus Hop-on Hop-off Tour avec croisière en option

I thought this would be a great idea since we wanted to see the sites when we first arrived in Sydney. The Big Bus app was always wrong about where the buses were and there were multiple times when we had to transfer buses and most of the time the buses barely waited 20 seconds while we were running to catch one.

Hop on hop off aspect was great. Lots of staff to help you get on and off the bus you were looking for. What was lacking is the tour… lots of time spent listening to crappy Bangor on the audio and I’m gonna be brutal… the prerecorded audio experience sucks compared to an actual guide. It talks about things and half the time you can’t see what it is they’re on about. Folks, get a public bus and google it - you’d be better off.

Booked this as a gift for a family member so she could get her bearings around Sydney. Unfortunately, it ended up being one of the biggest disappointments of her trip. The audio commentary didn’t work from the moment she boarded. She tried three different seats and still had no audio, meaning she missed the commentary for the first part of the tour. She then hopped off to explore one of the stops. When she checked the live tracker, the next bus was due within minutes, but there was no realistic way she could make it back in time. Looking at the map, the only other buses on the Red Route were over an hour away. I contacted customer service because there were no service alerts advising of any disruption. I went backwards and forwards with customer service, I was repeatedly told buses run every 30–40 minutes and that an hour-long gap wasn’t possible. It was only after I pointed out the locations of all three buses on their own live tracker that they finally admitted I was correct and confirmed there would be a 60+ minute wait. In reality, the bus arrived more than an hour later, exactly as the live tracker had shown from the beginning. Rather than providing a meaningful solution, customer service suggested she use public transport to try to meet the bus further along the route. That completely defeats the purpose of paying for a hop-on hop-off sightseeing tour. We paid for a guided tour of Sydney, not for her to spend her holiday navigating trains and light rail. Sydney’s major attractions generally only have a short daytime opening window. Losing well over an hour waiting for a bus meant missing planned sightseeing and the time couldn’t simply be made up later. The only compensation offered was a replacement ticket. For someone visiting Sydney on a once-off holiday, that has virtually no value. A future ticket doesn’t replace the sightseeing time that was lost that day. The most frustrating part wasn’t even the delay, it was that customer service spent 20 minutes denying there was a problem before finally confirming exactly what their own live tracker had shown all along. Between the faulty audio, the excessive wait, and the poor handling of the situation, the service simply did not deliver what was advertised.

I wasted nearly 2 hours trying to locate pickup point at central station. From your site it’s say outside central station but there is no signage at the bus stop, so I decided to chat with big bus virtual help and they directed me to Pitt street bus stop no.18 where I saw a clear signage, I waited there for 1 hour before I called to ask when the bus would be coming because I saw a red bus pass without stopping someone heard my conversation and directed me back to the first stage and when I got there I couldn’t tell which side of the road… It was frustrating. Anyway, I had a good time and the drivers were nice and helpful with information.

Had to wait for 45 minutes to be picked up. Call centre did not answer phone despite leaving a message. Did take us to the described stops . But its not as described that if you hop off the next bus is in half an hour to get on. Not worth the money spent.

Very informative. It was presented in an informal fun way. I like the many voices, it added variety. I liked the quizzes.

Great way to see the city and learn its history! The schedule worked great for us to explore different areas of the city. The add-on night tour was great!

The Hop-On Hop-Off bus is perfect if you’re unfamiliar with a new city but want to make sure you hit all the major highlights. I opted for the 48-hour pass, which felt like a much better value than the single-day option. Day one rode the Red Route and hopped off at a few locations. Day two took the Blue Route out to Bondi Beach. Afterwards it was easy to transfer back to the Red Route and hop off at the different locations we didn't have time for the day before. Even though the buses were popular and carried a lot of people, we never had an issue finding a seat. To top it off, the drivers were excellent and very friendly. Highly recommend!
