Sunset Safari Photo

Description

We had an amazing time with Colin ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I would highly recommended this tour, we saw Moose, Doll Sheep, Eagles and beautiful views of Anchorage. Colin is very knowledgeable and truly loves what he does. Thank you Colin!
Thank you so much for letting us know how much you enjoyed the tour, especially that Colin took good care of you. We are so happy you had a good time! We hope to see you again.
Our tour guide, Ben, was fantastic. Unfortunately, it rained and instead of cancelling the tour for bad weather, like the Expedia version of this listing said, they kept it and we basically just drove around, no pictures, no sunsets, just an overpriced drive. Ben kept trying to think of places to take us, but there really wasn't any good options. Tour also ended roughly a hour early. There were only four of us too, they should have just cancelled and given us a refund. Also warning, high price is partly justified by stating all park fees are included, as well and snacks and drinks. None were needed/provided. Highly recommend trying another company for your excursion needs.
Hi. I am glad that you enjoyed the guiding provided by Ben. I am sorry that Expedia provided you incorrect information about this tour. On our website, we clearly state that we run this tour in all conditions, absent a weather warning from the National Weather Service. We know that good photos can be taken in bad weather, and we have been able to have that sort of success on this tour for over a decade. While rain was in the forecast, the level of intensity you experience was not forecasted. According to our guide, the tour only concluded 30 minutes early because the conditions were too dark due to the weather. Drinks and snacks are regularly offered during this tour.
there was only one other person on the tour and she appeared to have ties to the owner and had just gotten all high-end equipment so a lot of the time was related to her skill level ( well above ours). There was also no sunset ( which I know cannot be guaranteed)
I am sorry you did not enjoy the experience. Our guides tailor the level of instruction based on the perceived needs of the guests. My only explanation is that your guide did not understand what you needed during the tour. He is often very-well reviewed as being attentive and helpful. We appreciate you reaching out to us; we will follow up with your guide and let him know about your experience.
We went on the sunset photo safari with Colin Tyler. He was very personable and knew of all the places to see the sights and wildlife. he was very good at showing us how to use settings on the camera to get to best pictures. Overall, it was a great experience thank you Colin for the great evening. Michael Keller
Thank you so much for your review, Michael! We're so glad to hear that you had a good time out on the Sunset Photo Safari tour with Colin earlier this month, and we hope you'll join us again on future visits to Alaska. Best wishes and safe travels.
Excellent photo tour! Our guide was super knowledgeable about not only the area but gave great photography tips and tricks!
Thank you! We encourage visitors to book this tour early during their summer or autumn visit to Alaska so that they can use the tips they learn throughout their Alaska trip. I am happy to see you enjoyed the locations and the photo tips!
Terry was a fantastic guide! She taught us some great techniques to get the most out of our cameras. Our photos are STUNNING! We went to 5 different sites during “the golden hour” and were able to beautifully capture Anchorage and its surrounding areas. We highly recommend this experience!
I am so glad that you enjoyed your Sunset Photo Safari so much! We really do enjoy sharing the joy of photography and the beauty of the nature around us with our guests. So glad that Terry took such good care for you. We appreciate your feedback!
Our photographer guide Terry is so informative and patient with us. My hubby had a problem with his camera. She doesn’t know the solution but she messaged all her friends. Solution to the problem was answered. She saved the day. Saw Beluga whale. Had good sunset pictures from the flat top. Awesome
I was glad to hear that Terry was able to resolve the problem with your husband's camera. It was definitely a team effort with one of our other guides helping out with the fix. I am glad that you enjoyed the tour so much and that Terry took such good care of you. Thank you for the feedback!
This was a great tour. Our guide, Terry, was wonderful, showing us some stunning sights and helping us all to improve our photography skills in the process. It was a very fun, beautiful, easy-going and informative tour and I highly recommend it. And you will be very lucky if you get Terry as your guide!
We think Terry is a great asset and I'm happy to hear you do, too! Her passion and knowledge for photography is really contagious, and we want our guests to be as excited about photography as our guides. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the tour so much!
Terry was lovely, she took us looking for moose but was more than happy to stop when I wanted to film a plane taking off. We visited several different sites to take landscape and nature photos, saw moose and beluga whales and watched the sunset from the mountains. Terry was also caring about our slight mobility issues, very much appreciated.
Hi Susan. Thank you so much for letting us know that Terry took such good care of you. I am so glad that you enjoyed the tour!
Our guide, Ben is not only a professional, he’s a fabulous person which meant we spent as much time taking exceptional photos as we did talking, learning and enjoying this spectacular part of the country. There were some last minute changes that meant we didn’t get as much drone instruction as we might have hoped for, but Ben got us to a variety of locations outside of parks where we could fly and get great footage. Knowing where to go that is both legal, flyable, and has views requires a guide if you aren’t familiar with the area. We went to a variety of locations for different scenery. We got rivers, glaciers, meadows, bridges, beaches and a moose! We can’t wait to show off our video from Anchorage on our YouTube channel - Well Travelled Life.
I am so glad that your Drone Dreamscapes tour worked out well, and that you were able to get what you wanted from the tour despite the changes you referenced. Ben is a great guide and we are very happy to have him on our team. We look forward to seeing your video!
