Excellent value for money

It was supposed to be three hours but ended up being 4.5 hrs because the dolpins didn't turn up early. I had asked for red wine to be provided but it wasn't. Very uncomfortable seats. Beautiful experience, though.

Postponed/ Boat tour was nice though

The boat trip itself was great. Melissa, our guide, spoke very good German and told us quite a bit about Brijuni. We did not see any dolphins due to the swell. We had actually booked the tour for a Wednesday via Trip Advisor, but when we arrived that Wednesday with the kids and all our gear, we were told the tour would not take place today because there were not enough people. I would have liked to be notified about this. We were put off, but found it very unfortunate because the weather conditions were significantly better on our originally booked Wednesday, and thus the chance of seeing dolphins was higher. So do not rely on the tour taking place on the booked day.

A rocky start

Pros: The sights were stunning, sadly no dolphins, but still beautiful. The host was lovely and warm and came over to each group pointing out the sights. The food we weren't expecting but it was delicious home cooked fresh fish and very appreciated for the long journey we ended up taking... Cons: Finding the meeting point was difficult as there are many dolphin tour organisations in the same spot all yelling at you and it was unclear which one we had actually booked with (the name Plain Sailing doesn't match the Martinella branding on the boat). We ended up asking several people and getting flustered as we were running late. Which brings me onto my next point... We got a message on the viator app a few of days before telling us to be at the meeting point an hour before the trip as they had to make an extra stop. However we only saw this a couple of hours before the trip when we downloaded the app to get our tickets ready and had to rush around to get there on time. When we got there (after the confusing check in) we boarded with a small group of others and the crew just started sailing – it wasn't clear where to sit, what direction we're going in, what were gonna be doing, etc. One lady climbed the ladder to get to the top deck and was told she (or any of us) couldn't go up there as the group we were making an extra stop for were a private party of 50 and the top was reserved for them. But this info was only shared when we asked directly was what going on and what was the plan. Overall: We did have a nice time but with the extra stop the trip was an hour longer than expected (lucky we ate) and we were very drained by the end. It would have been good to have more info (the size of the private party and what areas were closed to us) communicated to us more clearly, imo viator could send an email. If we'd known that information ahead of time we might have booked for another day. The host said it was her first day and it was the first trip of the season so there's bound to be some things to work out. I feel that having an opening greeting where the plan is laid out to us as soon as we board would be helpfil, things like where we're going, where the toilets are, where we can sit, where the drinks are, the fact that we could pay to have a meal. I would recommend this to a friend but only once these start of season problems are worked out.

A beautiful tour of the Brijuni Islands

This was a perfect holiday experience. Staff on board are very friendly and we had a smooth experience from booking the tour with Andrea to the trip around the Brijuni Islands with Alida, Luka and Blaž. Dinner and drinks were served on board and we saw dolphins during sunset. Would recommend. :)
