We tasted our way around Stockholm and enjoyed every minute!

This tour has lots of walking but you get to see a lot more of the city. Our guide was excellent - friendly and knowledgeable. We went to 3 distinct areas of the city and made 6 stops to try different foods. The portions were generous and we enjoyed all of the stops.

👑 Stockholm delight 👑

Culinary experiences paired with an entertaining introduction to Stockholm’s history and culture — all very professionally set in scene by our guide Cotton. He made sure that even I as a vegetarian got very well served. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ food tour!

A very interesting day

We had a very full day. Matt was a great guide and shared lots of information with us. We had about 7 tastings and a good variety. We did not like the salty licorice.

Busy tour at too fast a pace

We were a combined group of 18, most about 70yo. The rather dapper Cotton guided us, no heeding our multiple requests to moderate the walking pace (claiming he had a schedule. ) All the seven stops (3 each in 2 foodhalls) provided interesting and tasty examples of Swedish cuisine. While significant, the forced march across the bridge to Old Town for the final sampling was arduous.

Great tour and interesting foods

We really enjoyed this food tour, and experienced many foods that we would have not otherwise had on our trip. Our guide, Cotton, was very knowledgeable and personable, and did a wonderful job guiding us. You will spend quite a bit of time in the food halls, and compared to other food tours I have taken I think there was less walking overall. I will say the size of the tour group was much too large. There were 17 of us on the tour, which means there is a lot less time to connect with your tour guide and get more stories and recommendations for the city. We usually do these types of tours early in our trip, so we can get a feel for the city and new ideas for how to spend the rest of our time there, which was not possible to do with such a large and varied group.

Swedish Food Culture 101

Fantastic way to become acquainted with Swedish food culture -- the foods, the customs, etc. Enjoy cheeses, meats (bear, moose, reindeer), herring, meatballs, licorice, pastry, coffee, and more). Plenty to replace a full meal.

I wanted it to be good

Cotton, knows so much about the food and cultural. He provides a great deal of information. But his leg stride is huge and trying to keep up was hard. Half the group was in the back and yes we werr walking a good pace. But c Cotton would jump into traffic and cross the street the light which is mot forgiving would suddenly change and we were stuck. It would be helpful to stop and wait for all the group before you jumped the signal. You had to wait on the other side anyway. Plus our group was too large it was over sold so it was hard to here in tbe food hall. Cotton did mot seem to notice we were all leaning in just to hear him. We have done 24 food tours we walk 5 to 6 miles a day we are not slow or hard of hearing but man be more attentive to the group.

Stockholm Walking Food Tour

I loved that a local shared her experiences growing up there. Along with a good tour I appreciate when the tour guide gives a bit of history. On this tour I got both and immensely enjoyed the experience. I would highly recommend.

Dangerous for people with allergies

I attended a food tour with a friend that had an egg (albumin) allergy. This is usually not a big deal. She can’t have anything with mayonnaise or uncooked or partially cooked eggs, but cakes-things with fully cooked eggs are fine as that changes the protein make-up. We explained to the guide at the beginning of the tour. Somehow this got her very confused. At our main dinner stop-my friend was served a plate where basically every item had some mayonnaise or eggy product on it. Not wanting to draw attention to herself or get condition-she just opted to not eat. Mid way thru-the guide did notice however, and realized that the plate had so much Mayo. But as a correction-she had the kitchen bring my friend a full slice of egg quiche, again-which my friend could not eat! At this point-my friend just felt there was too much attention on her so didn’t say anything more and just didn’t eat. The crazy thing was-where we were eating there were so many options-the fish stew-as long as they didn’t put the aioli in it, the fried mackerel without the mayo sauce on top. The shrimp without being in the sauce. After the tour ended-I did reach out to the tour company over multiple platforms to discuss what happened and sent multiple messages. Even though I had corresponded with them previously-when they cancelled my first booked tour date, they have been silent and not responded at all. I think that tells you all you need to know about this company… My friend could have been made very ill. If she has albumin, she is sick for days. The care the guide showed was really poor. I wouldn’t trust anyone with any food issues with this tour company.
