My wife and I have visited the Cayman Islands four times previously, and this year we decided to bring my two nephews to celebrate one of their high school graduations. This was their first trip to any Caribbean island, so we wanted to expose them to as many new experiences as possible. Despite all of our previous trips to Cayman, we had never been to Stingray City. My wife is adventurous in many ways, but swimming with stingrays was definitely not one of them! This time, we decided to give it a try, and we’re so glad we did. Captain Justin and Derek were awesome and made us feel welcome immediately. The boat ride out to the Stingray City sandbar was smooth and took about 30 minutes. Once we arrived and anchored, it was clear how experienced and comfortable Derek was with the stingrays. He handled several of them and took the time to show us how to safely interact with them. We had the opportunity to feed, hold, and even kiss the stingrays! My nephews were a little nervous at first, which was understandable, but after about 10–15 minutes, they became much more comfortable and had an absolute blast. One thing to be prepared for is the water and waves at the sandbar. The waves were breaking over the sandbar during our visit and could definitely catch you off guard at times, but it was all part of the experience. Overall, the excursion lasted about two hours and was one of the highlights of our trip. After four previous visits to Cayman, I’m glad we finally experienced Stingray City—and even happier that we got to experience it for the first time with my nephews. I would absolutely recommend this excursion, especially for families or anyone visiting Cayman who wants a memorable experience. Captain Justin and Derek made the entire trip fun, comfortable, and something we’ll definitely remember.

Most amazing Stingray interactions! Held , fed, kissed, swam with the beautiful soft rays! Loved it! Boat was clean and comfortable. Not over crowded. Team was friendly, served cold drinks on board, took great photos of us in water (extra charge). Well worth it! I highly recommend Acquarius Sea Tours and the Buccaneer catamaran!

The scenery was breathtaking, the photos came out beautiful, and every moment felt well-organized and memorable. The Sting Rays Love us! Learned a lot about Grand Caymen on the boat cruise and crew members made sure we had enough time with the sting rays and photos.

True to the former reviews, this was the highlight of the trip for everyone in the family who wasn’t a scuba diver. And our scuba divers still said they LOVED it. Kids say: Watch out, they spit at you. (Actually really funny!) Everyone was so nice. (The entire crew was warm and friendly, helpful, kind to all personalities.) They won’t sting you and the Ray that killed the croc hunter was a different kind of ray not found here.) You got to touch them and hold them. The entire staff was incredible. Couldn’t have had a better crew. The sailing didn’t exactly happen. There was no wind. We were given the opportunity to choose to try to sail back or stay longer with the rays and motor back. We chose to stay longer. We were the only boat left, enjoying the gorgeous view with these beautiful creatures and kind people. We were the only ones with kids on this trip. I picked this trip because I heard the star fish beach was overrated as well as the reef. However, I was told later the snorkeling is cool out so far by other tourists on the island. So probably either is good for most if you want to cram it all in. Also I have some kids that sometimes can be overwhelmed with lots of craziness. This was just right. Maybe other trips wouldn’t have an issue anyway because each boat puts you in a circle at first. One woman was afraid and stayed on the boat the whole time. If you have someone who needs calm, the boat was spacious without too many people and no crammed spaces. There is a bathroom that’s clean. There’s shade if wanted. There is a photographer. It’s $10/ pic or $40 for all she takes of your family. It’s a point and shoot but the pics are great. I couldn’t have left my camera on board! If you are worried about animal welfare, there is an article questioning this industry. But out of all the animal encounters on the island (other than scuba and snorkeling), this one seems the kindest. The animals are free. They can participate or not. They are free to swim off or keep coming back. Granted, great incentives to stay! It gets slightly crazy when trying to feed them. The handlers hold the animals that are so eager to eat the food out of someone’s hand. But it’s to keep from too much crazy and a tourist probably doing something stupid. Then the animals swim. They will snuggle into outstretched arms. I may be reading the behavior incorrectly but they appear calm and relaxed. I’d do this again if we came back and the kids wanted it. If you are debating between this and bioilluminsence trip, I’m happy we chose this. It’s going to be a win guaranteed. It was. Perfect last night. Play with animals (sensory happy and animals). And gorgeous time of day, sail boat, sunset. I loved it. Bring cash for tips or you can when you pay for the pics. You can bring a change of clothes or just stay in your suit. You will want sunblock. We brought masks and snorkels. My crew was happy about that. None of my family got seasick. One tends to. I think that one took a motion sickness pill before hand for good measure. No shoes on boat per law of the country when interacting with sting rays. So don’t think too much about that. That’s everything I would have wanted to know. And yes, it’s expensive when you have a larger group. But I’m so happy we did this. And I couldn’t be happier with the staff and company.

This is the best experience I’ve had in my life!! We booked last minute, I was so unsure about swimming in the sea with my 1 year old son. The crew, Jason, Junior and Ashley were great! 10/10 I will be booking again, they take your pictures and capture everything!

This was a really good cruise where the captain and staff made sure we interacted with the stingrays and took pictures. I would do it again.

The sunset catamaran Stingray City excursion was very good. The crew was polite and helpful. The in water experience was amazing. Our day was at high tide, so it was more wavy-surgy, but the stingrays did not care. The stingrays were plentiful, not threatening and fun to take pictures of. The crew was helpful with capturing the experience and ensuring everyone was safe.
