Adelle was absolutely amazing. She was extremely knowledgeable and gave us the ghost stories as well as history of the French Quarter and New Orleans over all. She was also very funny. I hope to one day do another tour with her. Ask for Adelle, the mortician with 2 La in her name, and 2 legs. 😜
Adelle is going to cackle with delight when she sees this! 🖤 Thank you so much — she’s thrilled you found her extremely knowledgeable, funny, and the perfect mix of ghost stories and rich French Quarter/NOLA history. The ‘mortician with 2 La in her name and 2 legs’ nickname is now legendary. We hope you come back soon so you can do another tour with her… she’s already saving the spookiest tales for you!
I think the success of this tour depends on the tour operator. Walking the tour allowed us to see the beauty of the French Quarter. We loved that. However our guy was a bit underwhelming. He wasn't particularly animated and his voice didn't project. At times his telling of the history and the lore around ghosts was a bit disjointed, not clear to the kids. I'm not sure I'd recommend this particular tour.
Dominic was very knowledgeable and interesting all at the same time. I would definitely recommend this tour and would take it again.
My daughter and I were excited about this tour. The guide was knowledgeable and the food the families were great. Would have appreciated my daughter receiving the same eye contact and interaction the other families/kids received. She looks older, but she’s still just a kid. Other than that, I would recommend this tour to friends and family.
Our family (8-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter) loved this ghost tour on our first day in New Orleans. Ashley kept our kids engaged with ghost stories, history, and jokes. My wife and I enjoyed the tour too. The history that she taught us helped us enjoy the French Quarter even more for the remainder of our visit. We dined at the restaurant Ashley recommended on our last night. It was excellent. Highly recommend this tour with Ashley as a guide!
I’m so thrilled Ashley could bring those legends to life for your whole family and help you see our city through a different lens. Stay spooky!
Our guide was funny and great: I think my Son who is 9 needs a little more interaction to stay invested, but Dan made it fun.
After a lot of deliberation we bought tickets for the family friendly ghost tour. We have an 8 year old who can dwell on things that can be scary. All the reviews I read noted it wasn’t spooky so we went for it and I’m so glad we did! The meeting spot was easy to find. Our tour guide was Ashley. She was phenomenal. She was great with the kids and kept them engaged. She told us all kinds of things about the history of New Orleans especially Jackson Square. I thoroughly enjoyed the information! The tour was a little short of two hours and the time flies by. Nothing was scary that was shared other than light ghost debauchery. Nothing gory was shared and vocabulary was carefully chosen. Parents learned of stories that they could google later for the information. I highly recommend this tour if you’re on the fence! You can tip with cash at the end or use the Venmo QR code if you don’t have cash.
We are so glad we passed the '8-year-old test!' It’s a total tightrope walk to keep the history interesting for the parents without giving the kids nightmares for a week, so hearing that Ashley hit that sweet spot is music to our ears.
Ashley took us all around Jackson Square and up through royal street. She was able to answer EVERY question my son and daughter fired off, and there were a ton!
Dalvin our guide made it really fun for my family. The stories had a little shock value to keep the kids interested. The history and folklore kept everyone asking questions and eager to learn more. Stayed within French quarter.
This is wonderful! It’s a win-win when the kids are entertained and the grownups are learning something new. Dalvin is a pro at making the French Quarter’s history come alive for all ages. Thank you for the great feedback
My family (two kids, 8 and 11) had an amazing time on this tour. Dalvin was absolutely amazing - he was just so engaging and entertaining from start to finish. Just LOVED him! We ended up learning so much (which was a bonus on a ghost walk... for a history buff, no less!). Would absolutely recommend!
Getting the seal of approval from an 8 and 11-year-old is the highest honor we can receive! Dalvin loves making history fun for all ages, and it sounds like he hit a home run with your family. We’re thrilled that the 'history bonus' made the ghost walk even better for you.
