That was SUCH a fun day, dang! Absolutely worth the money and should be on every bucket list. Our guide Dresden was knowledgeable and patient and did an amazing job. We will definitely be back next year!

What an excellent way to spend your afternoon. Our guide Mike or Red was funny and informative. He knew the river backwards and forward and didn't make you paddle unnecessarily, which made the trip down the river relaxing when you weren't going through rapids. The water is pretty cold so keep that in mind if you are sensitive, however, the weather was warm and you quickly warm up. Well worth the cost. Class 2-3 rapids are great for any kid about 7 and up so also fun with family or new rafters.

Lots of boats on the water that we needed to maneuver and wait for at times and one of the guides was complaining about it a bit. On the bus ride back, was enjoying just relaxing and drying off and there was a ‘surprise’ bottle of water sprayed on the bus riders. I may be a stick in the mud, but I didn’t appreciate it.

My wife and I took our 17 y/o daughter and 20 y/o son in early August and it was the best part of our week long trip. Our guide Lulu was the best. She’s been guiding rafts since she was 15 and is a real professional. She made sure we had the best time. Navigating the river safely but making sure we had an awesome adventure. The whole H2O crew ran a great trip and made us feel comfortable the entire time. This was a very fun and safe trip for all ages! Lulu was the best, we highly recommend this trip!

My husband and I chose the 1/2 Day Lower “Gorge” Run on the South Fork of the American River to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary, and it turned out to be an unforgettable adventure! As complete beginners, we thought this run was the perfect introduction to white water rafting. It had just the right mix of excitement, beautiful scenery, and manageable Class II-III rapids that challenged us without ever feeling overwhelming. Our guide, James, was absolutely phenomenal. You could immediately tell that rafting isn’t just a job for him—it’s a true passion. He was incredibly knowledgeable, gave clear instructions, and made our entire group feel confident before every rapid. The biggest test came at Satan’s Cesspool, where three people from our raft—including my husband—were thrown overboard. With the sudden shift in weight, another rafter and I were also ejected from the boat. It could have been a scary experience, but James stayed calm, took control of the situation immediately, and expertly got everyone safely out of the river and back into the raft. I felt safe the entire time because of his quick thinking, experience, and leadership. If you’re considering trying white water rafting for the first time, I highly recommend this trip. It was exciting, memorable, and the perfect balance of fun and adventure for beginners. A couple of tips: wear plenty of sunscreen and make sure your sunglasses are secured—or better yet, leave them behind unless they’re strapped on tight! You’ll thank me later. Thank you, James, for making our anniversary one we’ll never forget and continue to laugh about in the future.

What an amazing time! My wife and I took our boys (10, 8) and they unequivocally called it "the best waterpark" they've ever been to lol. We look forward to returning and eventually working our way to class IV runs! Mariana was a fantastic guide!
