Wat Phra Mahathat, en Thaïlande, était un temple royal du royaume d'Ayutthaya. C'est l'un des temples les plus anciens et les plus importants de l'histoire d'Ayutthaya car il abritait la sainte relique du Bouddha. De nombreuses cérémonies royales importantes de l'époque d'Ayutthaya avaient été organisées ici. Lorsque le royaume d'Ayutthaya a échoué en 1767, Wat Phra Mahathat a été gravement endommagé par le feu et a été abandonné depuis. Le temple est situé dans la zone du parc historique d'Ayutthaya de nos jours. Les attractions de Wat Phra Mahathat de Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya comprennent des vestiges de bâtiments anciens importants tels que des pagodes, des pagodes octogonales, une salle royale, de petits temples, des peintures murales sous un arbre Bodhi et la célèbre tête de Bouddha de style Ayutthaya en pierre de sable la racine d'un arbre. Situé sur la rive du Maenam Chao Phraya, à l'ouest de l'île de la ville se trouve Wat Chaiwatthanaram. Construit en 1630 par le roi Prasat Thong pour honorer sa mère, Wat Chai Wattanaram a été conçu comme une réplique du temple d'Angkor. L'un des sites historiques les plus visités d'Ayutthaya, Wat Chaiwattanaram repose sur la rive de la rivière Chao Phraya, à l'ouest de l'île de la ville.
Le pavillon Elephant Kraal (Phaniat) est situé dans le sous-district de Suan Phrik. Il est à quatre kilomètres de la ville le long de la route 347 au km 42-43.
Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon est un beau temple au large de l'île historique. Les points forts sont son chedi en forme de cloche de 60 mètres de haut et un grand Bouddha couché.

My family went on several tours with Angela and she was fantastic!
