Laughing Bird Caye est un parc national et un site du patrimoine mondial. C'est une île longue et étroite connue pour son abondance de vie marine et de coraux. Le nom vient des mouettes qui sont parmi les nombreux oiseaux qui habitent la fin nord de la caye. Laughing Bird Caye offre une excellente plongée en apnée comme on peut s'y attendre dans un parc national. Du côté est de l'île, les monts de coraux séparés par des plaques de sable s'élèvent à environ 5 pieds de la surface. Ces monticules contiennent une variété de types de coraux qui abritent homards, barracudas, lézards, poissons-anges, poissons-perroquets, tambours tachés, rayons du sud et une myriade de poissons de récif. Sur le côté ouest, votre guide trouvera du homard, des barracudas, des lézards, du mérou de Nassau, des poissons-anges, des concombres de mer velus, des conques et de nombreux poissons juvéniles multicolores.

Départ du centre de plongée Splash à 9h00 pour une promenade de 30 à 40 minutes en bateau jusqu'au parc national Laughing Bird Caye. C'est la destination de plongée la plus populaire de l'Inner Reef. À votre arrivée, attendez-vous à un briefing du garde du parc, puis dirigez-vous vers l'eau avec votre guide de plongée agréé. Si vous n'avez jamais fait de plongée avec tuba auparavant, pas de problème. Nos guides se feront un plaisir de vous montrer les tenants et les aboutissants de la plongée en apnée et comment trouver les bonnes choses. Les bestioles comprennent le tambour tacheté, les homards énormes, les crevettes plus propres, les crabes flèches, le vivaneau, le barracuda et plus de variétés de poissons de récif que vous ne pouvez en compter. l Vers midi, vous profiterez d'un pique-nique à la Belize ou d'un barbecue sur l'île. Ensuite, vous retourneriez dans l'eau pour plus d'exploration sous-marine. Il y a beaucoup de zones avec des coraux sains et une vie aquatique abondante à découvrir avant de retourner à Placencia.

If you visit Placencia you absolutely must do this tour. Brian, Brian, Aaron, and Captain D were an amazing crew. We saw sharks, a beautiful turtle, lots of fish, and some of the most beautiful reefs at Silk Caye. We can’t wait to come back. Thanks to the crew for making our last day in Belize a memorable one!

Booking solo trips in Belize in April/May can be challenging (there is often a two-person minimum) I was thrilled to easily book with Splash. Solo, with an existing tour. First rate operation from start to finish friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and attentive team. And delicious food! We were well taken care of!

This is the best island snorkel trip I have been on. Laughing Bird Caye is amazing and beautiful; everything you expect from an isolated Caribbean island. The Splash Team were amazing. Duce and Kurzon were amazing and so helpful and informative on the snorkel trip. Their knowledge was amazing. The food which was a barbecue was a 10/10. The Pelicans and Laughing gulls provided amazing shots for birders! Final thanks to Sharon who made the booking seamless! Keep doing what you are doing!

We had a truly magical experience at Laughing Bird Caye. Deuce our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and so patient. I was there with my son 8 yrs old, daughter 13 yrs and mother 80 yrs old. We saw so much beautiful wildlife. My mother had not snorkeled in years and had lung surgery and was worried about how whether she could still do it. The patience and kindness Deuce showed my family was so appreciated. Thank you for a brilliant day and amazing memories.

Our snorkeling trip to Silk Caye was absolutely breathtaking and truly unforgettable. Being able to experience the beauty of the reef up close — the vibrant coral, colorful fish, and even swimming near nurse sharks — felt surreal and once-in-a-lifetime. Our guide Carzon was incredible from start to finish. He was patient, kind, and so attentive the entire trip. When I started feeling a little nauseous from the salt water, he immediately stepped in to help me in the ocean and made sure I felt safe and comfortable. That level of care made such a difference and allowed us to fully enjoy the experience. This was one of the most memorable parts of our trip to Belize, and we’re so grateful for such a beautiful, well-guided adventure. Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting!

We were on this tour with Splash today and had an absolutely spectacular time. Our guides, Erin, Sigourney and Carson went out of their way to make sure the experience was top shelf all the way. They took great care of us and ensured we saw as many fish, coral and other ocean life as the reef had to offer including nurse sharks, stingrays, spiny lobsters, a good sized red snapper and too many other species to name them all. Laughing Bird Caye is a glorious island with incredibly soft sand - a truly magical place that the Belizean community is working hard to preserve. The only downside of the adventure was the rough boat ride out. Nothing the Splash team could control but something that people who don't like rough waters should take into consideration before booking. I should mention that it was a particularly windy morning so I am sure the ride would not always be as rough as ours was today.

Beautiful place to snorkle in paradise. Sig, Kendrick,Captain John and Ciran made sure we were safe the entire trip. I was very anxious about being in the water but Sig and Kendrick made sure I felt safe and in control. Thank you to the entire Splash team.

Our resort set up our snorkeling excursion. Upon arrival, the employees were very welcoming and friendly. We tried to go to Silke Caye, but the waters were too rough, so we detoured to Laughing Bird. Everyone was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and so fun!!! We had a guided snorkeling trip, Eric had so much information about the sea life and caye, we learned a lot. I highly recommend scheduling a trip with them, they make you feel like family.
