Le palais de Pena n'est pas seulement coloré, il est aussi très expressif. Nous abordons Pena comme un point de vue, une vision et un moment, en mettant l'accent sur : - Le cadre spectaculaire - La signification de son design - Les vues panoramiques qui laissent les visiteurs sans voix Vous aurez tout le temps d'explorer les lieux et d'admirer le paysage sans être pressé. Le château maure de Sintra est une forteresse médiévale construite aux IXe et Xe siècles, pendant l'occupation musulmane de la péninsule ibérique. Perché sur les hauteurs de Sintra, il offre une vue panoramique à couper le souffle sur la ville, la côte atlantique et les forêts luxuriantes de la Serra de Sintra. Ses anciens murs de pierre, ses tours et ses sentiers sinueux racontent l'histoire de siècles de conquêtes et d'influences culturelles, ce qui en fait l'un des sites les plus évocateurs de Sintra.
Au cœur de Sintra, vous pourrez découvrir ce charmant village, admirer le palais national ou faire une promenade pittoresque jusqu'à la ravissante Quinta da Regaleira. Vous pouvez aussi vous laisser envoûter par la magie de cette ville médiévale : flânez dans ses ruelles étroites, imprégnez-vous de l'ambiance locale et dégustez un café accompagné d'un « Travesseiro » ou d'une « Queijada », deux pâtisseries traditionnelles à ne pas manquer.
Le vin de Colares est l'un des vins les plus singuliers et les plus rares du Portugal ; il est produit sur des sols sableux près de Sintra. Le cépage Ramisco, issu de vignes non greffées, confère au vin un caractère unique : élégant, tannique et destiné au vieillissement. L'une des plus anciennes régions viticoles délimitées du Portugal. C'est un véritable trésor caché pour les amateurs de vin.
Le sanctuaire de la Peninha est un petit sanctuaire du XVIIe siècle situé au sommet d'un pitoresque piton rocheux de granit, au cœur du parc naturel de Sintra-Cascais. Depuis ce belvédère, on jouit d'une vue imprenable sur la côte atlantique, la forêt et même Lisbonne par temps clair. C'est un endroit paisible et peu connu qui permet de s'imprégner de l'atmosphère mystique de Sintra, loin de la foule.
Nous terminons la journée à Cascais, une élégante ville balnéaire où le rythme ralentit naturellement. Profitez de votre temps libre pour : - Se promener dans la marina - S'asseoir au bord de la mer - Partager un déjeuner traditionnel ou un dessert C'est un retour au calme après une journée bien remplie et enrichissante.

Les départs ont lieu à partir de 7 h 40 pour les hôtels du centre-ville et à partir de 7 h 50 pour les établissements situés dans les quartiers résidentiels. La veille de votre visite, nous vous confirmerons l'heure exacte de votre prise en charge afin que vous puissiez commencer votre aventure en toute sérénité. S'il n'y a pas de place de stationnement disponible ou si votre hôtel se trouve juste en dehors de la zone de prise en charge centrale, nous pourrions vous demander de marcher environ 5 minutes jusqu'à un point de rendez-vous à proximité — l'occasion de vous dégourdir les jambes et de profiter de l'ambiance matinale. Si votre hôtel ne figure pas dans la liste, choisissez simplement l'option disponible la plus proche ou l'un des points de rendez-vous indiqués. Afin que la journée se déroule sans encombre et que tout le monde puisse profiter pleinement de l'expérience, nous limitons le temps d'attente aux points de rendez-vous et de prise en charge à 5 minutes maximum.

Rodrigo is an excellent guide, and shared tons of history and context for Portugal and the sites we visited. We also visited an old convent off the beaten path (just some locals there) and in sight of the Moorish Castle. Amazing how us humans have managed to build medieval castles and bustling modern cities on steep hillsides. Note - this tour involves a lot of hill climbing and descent., and lots of stairs. We covered a few kilometers. A great day, but do understand what you're signing up for and wear the right shoes. I did fine at age 67.
Rodrigo was amazing, one of the best guides I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. Full of great information both socially and historically, any questions we had, he had answers for. wwhile visiting the different locations we never felt rushed. In fact it was like walking around with a new friend, laughs and fun. We visited some great sites, his van was comfortable and cool on the hot day, and pick up and drop off to our accommodation was so nice
What an awesome and full experience my parents and I had spending the day with Rodrigo! From the start, picking us up at a hotel steps from our Airbnb made the beginning of our adventure an easy one. Rodrigo was personable, kind, very knowledgeable, and funny! Though he took us to spots other tourists often go, our experience was much more personal and in depth. Rodrigo shared historical stories, interesting perspectives, and great anecdotes about each location. We didn’t feel like we were being herded like sheep at the Pena Palace and Moorish Castle, and we were able to go at a pace that was comfortable. Be prepared with comfortable walking shoes! We were grateful for the gorgeous views at each location, and would definitely consider it a moderate walking trail with some inclines that my calves felt the next day. Lol An experienced hiker, Rodrigo was still so patient and considerate with my fairly in-shape 70 year old parents, and my out-of-shape 40 year old self huffing and puffing. Lol He gave us extra time when needed, and that includes when we were just eating lunch and shopping! He kept us engaged and entertained the whole day and we felt safe with his driving and navigating with the sometimes wild traffic of the city. We truly could not have had a better day! Would recommend this experience for any small group that likes a more personalized take on a day trip with an expert. And we thank Rodrigo for creating one of the highlights of our vacation!

Rodrigo was a fantastic guide and very communicative. Shortly after booking the tour, he reached out to let me know that it didn't include tickets for inside the Pena Palace and how to get tickets if that's what we wanted to do. We were fine with not going inside, but I appreciated the heads up. We ended up with a private tour, which we hadn't expected. Smaller groups definitely make getting through the crowds easier. It was great getting the inside scoop from him about everything we were seeing. We even got to go to his favorite view point from a monastery - an added bonus from any of the other tours out there. He also knew the best spots for pics and was basically our own private photographer (so much better than trying to get strangers to take pictures for you!). He gave great recommendations of places to go to in Cascais, and even followed up with some ideas for us to see Belem on our own (not part of our tour with him). Highly recommend taking this tour with him! You won't be disappointed!

My mom and I last minute booked this trip with Rodrigo and it was one of the best excursions we’ve ever done! Rodrigo was fabulous, we learned so much about the history of Portugal and all the sites we stopped at. The day just flew by. We didn’t know much about the palace or castle and walked away with a plethora of knowlege and amazing photos! My mom just turned 80 and he was so attentive to making sure she didn’t trip on all the cobblestones and such. He was just the best guide ever! I highly recommend this tour!!

Rodrigo, our guide, was a fountain of knowledge about the present day and history of places we visited. His story telling method made what could have been dry facts into an entertaining narrative. The stops on this tour were so interesting and impressive. The Sintra area, near Lisbon, is a beautifully forested area that was a favorite of earlier Portuguese nobility. Our tour was done in excellent English, but he is also fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. All entrance tickets were included, which saved us so much time waiting in lines. Prompt pick up at our hotel was appreciated; and his insider tips on things to see, and places to eat were valuable too. This was one of the very best guided tours we’ve ever been on; and we’ve had lots of tours all around the globe.

Rodrigo provided an absolutely wonderful tour of Pena Palace, the Moorish castle, and insightful commentary about both, together with generous stopovers in Sintra and Cascais. The stopovers were essentially guided as well through his advice and tips. We also made a stop at the most breathtaking viewpoint imaginable. We cannot recommend Rodrigo highly enough! Our tour guide Rodrigo went at our pace and took great care of us. He also let me know about last minute entry tickets to the palace which was amazing! If you’re into lots of walking and outdoors I recommend this tour. Just make sure to layer up as it can get very foggy and cold with the wind chill.
