Merveilles de Slovénie : Grottes UNESCO de Škocjan, Château de Predjama et Piran

Description

DJ was incredibly attentive and most knowledgable in local history and all things Slovenia. The car/van was very comfortable with good vision out to beautiful countryside.
Peter was a great guide, really knowledgeable about Slovenian history which made the road trip fly past. The caves are really majestic, a must see!
The cave was superb & impressive, with lots of stairs and no pictures allowed sadly. The visit to Piran was a little unstructured due to the rain and we reached later than the planned time. We got to spend 2 hours there, which was less for us, we were just able to have lunch and explore the maze of narrow streets and a bunch of shops. The Adriatic sea was strikingly blue, clear and beautiful. In addition we also stopped at the Lipica Horse farm, a view overlooking Trieste from a hill/mountain and the Predjama Castle. Igor was quite knowledge throughout the trip and furnished us with a lot of interesting information.
Peter, our guide, was outstanding. He provided a wide range of information, descriptions, facts, and more. With just 2 of us, we covered a couple additional bonus stops at lookout points and locations. We'll paced trip in a comfortable van allowing enough time to enjoy a solid overview of each site. Included a stop at a small village for a lite snack. The tour included information and driving. Entry tickets and snacks were extra. I'd highly recommend Peter. His commentary provided deep knowledge and insight of the sites and country / area.
A Good round trip. Really enjoy the inner structures of the cave. Seafood are tasty in Piran. Very knowledgable Polona always in hand to help out.
The Skocjan Cave is an awful, dangerous place to go. The ground is slippery and there was nothing exciting to see. A complete waste of time and money. Piran is just an ordinary little fishing town.
Hi, can you please let us know when you took this tour with us? During winter time we do not operate this particular tour as a shared group tour, so since end of October toll the beginning of May. Thank you and vest regards, Saša
Jan was punctual, leaving the RDV site at 8:30 am with a total of 5 passengers. We alone stayed longer inside Skocjan Cave because of an emergency. Jan was very patient and promised not to miss or short anything on the itinerary. The commentary was clear, relevant, and relatable. He recommended an unique lunch venue -- memorable Fritolin Pri Cantini in Piran. We never would have found it on our own. The final destination was Predjama Castle, a remarkable example of a huge castle cut into the karst side of a mountain. Unbelievable! Jan returned us safe and sound at 6:15. He made this excursion satisfying.
Loved this tour! Cave very cool. Still don’t understand why you can’t take photos in it. No one could tell me why—without a flash, there is no damage to anything. Piran was wonderful! We all wanted to stay longer (2 hours was not enough). Really just drove thru edge of Lipica.
Such a lovely day out to see the coastal vibe of Slovenian. Firstly the caves are amazing, don’t really know what yo expect initially but wow, the caves are a sight to see, no photos so you just experience it. Piran is a lovely coastal town, very italian coastal vibes as a old Venetian town. Plus our driver and guide was wonderful.
A packed and varied programme which would be impossible to do independently in a day. The stunning caves were the highlight (although you have to be nimble to manage the terrain and stairs!) - all the sights were rewarding/fascinating/enjoyable.
