Tout d'abord, une visite d'une cascade très pittoresque appelée Glanni dans la tranquillité de la région de Bifrost.
Admirez les sites touristiques de Deildartunguhver, la source thermale à débit le plus élevé d'Europe, fournissant 180 litres par seconde d'eau chaude à 100 @ C! Enfilez le chemin avec soin tout en regardant et en écoutant la puissante énergie de la source chaude au travail.
Profitez d'une visite inoubliable à la ferme équestre islandaise Sturlureykir. Vous pouvez vous approcher autant que vous le souhaitez de ces beaux animaux sympathiques et ensuite profiter d'un "pain de source chaude" fait maison appelé rugbraud en islandais avec une bonne tasse de café ou de l'eau fraîche glacée.
Ensuite, vous vous arrêterez au site historique de Reykholt. Là, vous pouvez en apprendre un peu plus sur l'histoire de l'Islande et voir Snorralaug - petite source chaude utilisée par la population locale depuis le 12ème siècle. Cet endroit a été mentionné pour la première fois dans les écrits médiévaux de Snorri Sturluson, le célèbre poète et homme politique islandais qui s'y baignait.
Vous verrez le grand Hraunfossar, une série de cascades réparties sur une distance d'environ 900 m. Les eaux s'écoulent du Hallmundarhraun, un champ de lave qui s'est formé il y a environ 1000 ans lors d'une éruption massive de volcan situé sous le glacier de Langjökull. Les Hraunfossar sont très souvent appelées «cascades de lave». Les ruisselets provenant du champ de lave créent l'une des vues les plus époustouflantes d'Islande.
À quelques mètres de Hraunfossar, vous trouverez une autre cascade intéressante - Barnafoss. Son nom, "la cascade des enfants", vient d'un récit d'accident qui aurait eu lieu ici au siècle précédent. Il y avait un pont en pierre naturelle au-dessus de la cascade et deux enfants d'une ferme voisine sont tombés morts en traversant la rivière sur le pont. Par la suite, la mère en détresse fit détruire le pont.
Le point culminant de la visite est la visite d'une grotte de lave colorée de Vidgelmir. À seulement 1600 mètres de la grotte, elle présente des couleurs étonnantes et des formations de lave qui se cachent dans les profondeurs de la terre. Au cours de cette expédition d'une heure et demie, vous aurez l'occasion de voir l'une des plus grandes grottes de lave d'Islande avec ses magnifiques stalactites et stalagmites de lave. La zone entourant l'entrée de la grotte vous permettra de réaliser à quel point les éruptions volcaniques peuvent être puissantes.

Such a brilliant tour to do. It’s our 4th holiday in Reykjavik and having done so many other tours opted for this one to try something new. We were not disappointed in any respect. The sun was shining and it was a great day. Bjarki was a great guide, made the day really relaxing, interesting and fun. Even managed to fit in an additional stop, a lovely piece of modern history, even though he wasn’t able to beat the Paddy Haynes stone lifting record!! The day was full of highlights, made extra special by us being the only visitors to most of the sights. Wouldn’t hesitate to go again on this tour with Nice travel.

This was a great tour. It was a good mix of sight-seeing and experiences, including the scenery while riding on the bus. The waterfalls were beautiful and we visited some points of interest, however, the highlights were visiting the horse farm and the lava cave tour - both a great deal of fun and a wonderful experience. It was nice to stop for lunch at some point in the day; and given the weather, we were grateful not to have to drive and just relax on the bus, especially after the long day. Would definitely recommend.

First of all, choosing to visit Iceland in winter is only done on the condition that you want to see it in a glacial aspect and that you are equipped for what it entails in terms of the temperatures to be faced, the clutter of luggage in tow, and the practicability of the roads, since for meteorological reasons, they are often closed even at short notice, for safety reasons. That said, and since the goal was to see in winter livery that land, I only indicate and recommend three of the waterfalls can be visited with satisfaction even in winter, when the flow of water is lower than the maximum of the thaw period perhaps, but the suggestiveness and colors compensate abundantly. In the photos there are Gulfoss, a stone's throw from the seat of the oldest European Parliament in Pingvellir, and near the place of counter of the continental plates North American and Eurasian, Skogafoss, very close to the black beach of Vik and that of Godafoss located much further north and accessible after crossing plateaus that in this season are authentic white deserts.
