Description
Le complexe archéologique de Sillustani (tours funéraires) est situé sur le haut plateau entouré d'un lagon magique appelé Umayo d'une beauté époustouflante dans la ville occidentale de Puno. Sillustani est l’une des plus importantes nécropoles du monde andin, connue pour ses gigantesques tours funéraires "CHULLPAS". Les célèbres Chullpas sont des tours en pierre qui ont été utilisées par diverses cultures, parmi lesquelles les collas et plus tard par les Incas. La chullpa du lézard se distingue comme étant la plus haute du site, atteignant plus de 12 mètres de hauteur. Dans les environs, vous pouvez voir des waru waru, des monticules artificiels conçus pour protéger les cultures contre le gel et les inondations. Avec de la chance à Sillustani, vous pourrez également observer des cochons sauvages des Indes, des oiseaux comme des flamants roses et d’autres animaux sauvages des hautes Andes.

Itinéraire
La prise en charge à votre hôtel se fera à 14h00 sans bus privé. Il vous faudra environ 45 minutes pour vous rendre au site archéologique de Sillustani. Ici, vous verrez des tombes funéraires incas et pré incas. Après, vous visiterez également la lagune d'Umayo avant de retourner à Puno. Vous retournerez à Puno vers 17h30.

Lovely day with a terrific guide, Esteban. The site was beautiful and very interesting. Stops along the way offered great views of Puno and a visit at a local’s home where we learned about foods and culture.

Excellent half-term tour! The guide Alejandro made all the difference with his sympathy and knowledge. The route is great, passing through the Puma Mirador, visiting a local family and ending in the impressive ruins of Sillustani. The archaeological site is next to a wonderful lake, which brings a unique atmosphere of peace to the place. I highly recommend!

Bit of a rocky start as we were picked up on foot and then stood awkwardly on a corner for about 20 mins or more waiting to be picked up on a big bus - however the tour itself was really fun and super informative: we had an excellent guide who was full of info and gave a really thorough tour of the site.

Overall, the trip was very informative. Our group was bilingual so the group did the tour in Spanish in English. There are two things that I didn’t like. The first is that the tour went two hours past the time that it said that it was going to end, which made me late forother plans that I have that evening. The second is that when it started raining the tour guide ran off and left us behind. I wish that he would’ve waited for us.

Tour was very good and guide was knowledgeable and very helpful with my friend who was having some difficulties walking the steps.
This trip exceeded our expectations. Our guide spoke good English, was well informed and enthusiastic and provide lot of additional stories about the life of local people. We had a couple of small but interesting, genuine and engaging stops, especially a visit of a local farmer where we learned about their daily life, diet, and crop treatment (note the best prices for hand made souvenirs). The final stop at Silusstani and the visit of impressive burial towers (chullpas) is an absolute MUST when touring Puno. This is a treat for those interested to learn more about pre-Inca and Inca civilizations and those who would appreciate a stunning landscape for photographs. Absolutely worth it.
