One can’t deny that snorkeling between two tectonic plates is super cool. We were very well bundled up to protect us from the frigid waters, but found after getting into the water, our gloves nor head covering were not waterproof. They need to invest $$$ in getting those. The pins and needles in my fingers became too much. Our guide also did a poor job at managing the teenager in the group and seemed to enjoy his antics. The splashing trying to dive deep became a distraction. She also catered to that family. We sure would have loved more pictures especially when I saw how many more she had taken of them.
Our guide Belu was an excellent guide. From start to finish she made everything easy on us from the gear fitting to the snorkeling to the finish.
Our family had a fantastic time on this adventure! The guides were incredibly helpful, fun and knowledgeable. The views from under the water are unbelievable. This tour is absolutely worth the money and time. This was my second time doing this tour. I brought my family back this time to experience it too. Kevin was awesome. He remembered all our names, took great photos and was very personable!
We had a great time with our guide Luca. He made the trip a wonderful experience for everyone and got lots of pictures for all of our group.
An incredible and unique experience, it is worth it. It looks like in the photos❤️
I'll admit I was slightly nervous about snorkelling in 3C water but all of that fell away as soon as you get in and experience the most beautiful clear water. We went at 830am. The team were great at helping us get all the kit sorted to keep us "comfortably cold". Our actual snorkelling was guided by Annie. She took some awesome shots of us in the water and we got them later on that day. The light hitting the water and the rocks beneath were absolutely beautiful. We were lucky enough to see a fish too which I wasn't expecting! I wore 2 thermal leggings and 3 tops but I wish I'd just wore one of each because some water leaked into my suit and got wet - that's the only bit of advice I'd give when packing for the trip!!
An amazing and unique experience! Everything was very well explained and organized. The small group size made it even better, and all the instructors were great, especially Luca. Friendly, professional, and reassuring throughout. An unforgettable experience that I highly recommend!
The snorkeling tour was a great experience; Abbie explained the equipment to us and provided support whenever necessary. A highlight of our trip to Iceland.
I had a terrible experience with Troll at Silfra. I never write reviews but this one needs to be told to warn you and future customers. Here is what happened: The instructor unfortunately deeply hurt my neck when she tried to put the helmet dive suit on my head. I am tall and she is shorter than me so she asked me to bend my head to manage this. She applied too much force and I felt immediately a strong pain in my neck. I never suffered from any neck pain or condition before fyi. The night after was awful and I could barely sleep. Considering my current physical condition and the activities planned for the rest of my trip, I decided to consult a chiropractor in Reykjavik - the only place in Iceland where you can find such specialists - to fix this (which was obviously not in my plans and had bad consequences on my short holiday program in Iceland). It helped to relieve the pain but it was still hurting due to muscle and ligaments inflammation. Therefore I had to consult another osteopath as I came back in France. As I write these lines pain is still there and is - very slowly - going away. The two specialists I met confirmed that it would have been definitely more appopriate to let me put the helmet on my own. They also explained me that I suffered from a CERVICAL COMPRESSION. Of course I related to the instructor my problem at the end of the session (I didn't want to create any trouble / delays during the exploration with other people waiting and was still hoping it would go away after a few minutes, which was obviously not the case when I got out of the water). I would have expected then at least an apology from her/ when I told her the situation but none came. And when I asked the staff where I could find a practicioner no help as well. Just laughs ("there is no one in Iceland" is what they replied) Then I wrote to their customer service support to report the situation, asking for a refund of the experience and of the Chiropractor bill. They replied in telling me that as I completed the tour everything was OK on their side. They also told me that the respected their procedure, ensuring by doing so that customers would not damage their expensive wetsuits (!!!!!!!). They never admitted any fault and just let me down. Especially considering the very high price paid for this experience I would have expected a minimum level of professionalism and decency. I told them I would tell my story and this what I do now. Now what is done is done, but I would never recommend to anyone this company, even though the snorkeling is in itself amazing (and luckily it has nothing to do with Troll.is)
This was great fun and our guide Steven was fantastic and funny along with all the team
