The Shell Island Ferry from St. Andrews State Park is such an easy, relaxing way to spend a beach day, with a friendly crew, a smooth 10‑minute ride, and beautiful views that sometimes even include dolphins. The boats are clean and well‑run, boarding is simple, and the drop‑off spot on Shell Island is quiet, clear, and completely natural. Travelers should know to arrive a little early, bring all their supplies since the island has no facilities, and keep an eye on return times because the schedule is strict. It’s perfect for families, great for anyone who wants a peaceful stretch of untouched beach, and absolutely worth the trip if you want a simple, stress‑free way to enjoy Shell Island!🐚🏝️🩵✨
We enjoyed the fact that we could stay on shell island for more than an hour. Crew was real friendly.

Absolutely fantastic. Every aspect of our journey was a joy. The staff at check-in was thoughtful and very helpful. Our tram driver to the boat was kind and very friendly keeping us informed of needed schedule. And then there was the captain of the boat, who I must say has a great play list with a great personality to make for the most fun had in one peaceful day.

Do not waste your time or money it’s just another beach no shells go to a public access no shells to be found plain and simple do not go

The drivers were awesome very friendly all of them! Loved the experience! Not many shells unless fight the waves for them, but still cool!

From our check in to the shuttle and then the boat ride, it was all so smooth and everyone was so nice.

Wasn't the best day for the island but the boat ride was extremely fun! The crew and captain were wonderful. Wasn't prepared and didn't have cash for a tip or i would've tipped! Definitely recommend

Randal, Not sure I understand the review you submitted. If you haven't been on the Ferry to Shell Island, I highly recommend it!
The boat ride by itself is worth the cost, nice secluded beach but you'll be hard pressed to find any shells. We see more shells at Ocean City Beach than this place, however we did not come to this place for shells - just the experience. Loved the beach though, not as clean as Panama City Beach but still very good. Water is very clear, something we miss to see in Ocean City and Myrtle Beaches.

Everyone was super nice and informative! The captain was so kind on the way back when we seen dolphins he went off course so everyone could see them!
