Notre visite commence ici. Vous entendrez l'histoire de la cale et de ses fantômes. Construit à l'origine en 1716, c'est le plus ancien bâtiment en bois de Saint-Augustin et a connu sa juste part d'histoire. Au fil des siècles, ses murs ont été la caserne des soldats britanniques, une école pour la jeunesse et la maison de Juan Genopoly, un chef des Minorquins. Et leurs fantômes ont décidé de rester. Nous n'entrons pas à l'intérieur, c'est seulement à l'extérieur que nous racontons notre histoire.
Les anciennes portes de la ville de Saint-Augustin ont été construites en 1808 pour remplacer la structure en bois qui se détériorait. De 3 étages, ils sont une attraction touristique populaire. Au fil des siècles, les vieilles portes ont gardé les habitants de la ville à l'abri des invasions. Et la légende locale raconte qu'ils sont hantés par l'âme d'Elizabeth, 10 ans.
En 1821, lorsque la fièvre jaune a frappé Saint-Augustin, elle a tué plus de 400 de ses habitants. À l'époque, c'était plus d'un tiers de sa population. En toute hâte, le gouvernement local a enterré les cadavres pourris des huguenots dans une fosse commune. Vous entendrez l'histoire du cimetière hanté et des esprits qui s'y cachent maintenant.
Le Potter's Wax Museum a été le premier musée de cire en Amérique créé en 1948 et abrite plus de 160 sculptures de cire effrayantes. Beaucoup de personnages sont passés depuis longtemps. Le bâtiment en bois dans lequel il se trouve a été construit en 1739 et a déménagé à cet endroit en 1887. Avant d'être un musée de cire, c'était une pharmacie, et on dit qu'il s'agit de la plus ancienne pharmacie des États-Unis. Et c'est hanté !
Le cimetière de Tolomato est le plus ancien cimetière de Floride datant des années 1700 et aujourd'hui, c'est le dernier lieu de repos des évêques, des esclaves, des meurtres et de plus de 1000 corps enterrés dans son sol. Vous entendrez l'histoire du garçon qui hante ses terres et verrez sa pierre tombale. A noter, nous n'allons pas dans le cimetière, nous ne sommes qu'au portail.
Dans les années 1700, cet endroit abritait l'entrepôt espagnol de poudre à canon et de munitions. Au fil des ans, le bâtiment a été une pension, une épicerie et plus récemment un charmant bed and breakfast, hanté par le plus doux des fantômes. Aujourd'hui, il est hanté par le plus doux des esprits. Ils meurent d'envie de vous rencontrer !
En 1870, ce bâtiment a été construit par un certain M. George Colee pour Marion, sa fiancée avec qui il avait prévu de vivre pour l'éternité. Vous en apprendrez davantage sur M. Colee et où il hante maintenant.
On dit qu'il est hanté par la plus méchante des vieilles dames, cet esprit est sûr d'effrayer tous ceux qui passent.
On dit que cet endroit pittoresque est hanté par les esprits de son passé.
Autrefois refuge des coureurs de rhum, cet endroit est aujourd'hui hanté par son ancien propriétaire. Et son esprit ondulant de lanterne est connu pour apparaître de temps en temps. Vous entendrez son histoire et les esprits qui hantent ce joint.

Information was very limited as what you get with an actual tour guide group. While taking this tour we would run into the tour guided group and their information was more detailed and informative

You can go at your own pace, anytime, on your terms, unliked guided tours making it popular for solo travelers, families and those that don't like the restrictions of group tours. If you are looking for that standard guided tour stop of 10 to 15 minute stops with long stories, you won't get that here :). These are meant to be fun, informative and well paced by design. The whole tour is about an hour plus if you do not stop and you'll see many sites in town that many people miss. My family and I did this while put for a belated birthday celebration. We loved being able to go at our own pace, and being able to have a guided walk through some streets that we, somehow, hadn't been despite having gone to St. Augustine multiple times. There was a bit of confusion while we were walking around, though we quickly figured it out. When referencing the Carriage House inn, there are 2 buildings. The first one was on the right, but as we continued down, we realized the stories were a reference to the second Carriage house a bit further down the street and was on the left. Second, the Prince of Wales pub has been permanently closed, and is now ReChic Treasures. Despite those two bits of confusion, my parents and I throughly enjoyed the tour. Also, if doing this at night for a "proper" ghost tour, the Scarlett O'Hara is LOUD. My Mom had difficulty hearing the audio, so we had to go back through that audio after getting the photos we wanted and walking away.

Really fun activity to do! By yourself or with friends! Travel on your on speed is one of my favorites about this! The app was pretty easy to use! Only reason I rated it 4 starts and not 5 because I wish some of the stories were a little longer. But overall I recommend for anyone needing something to do on your own time!
We learned a lot of history of St. Augustine as well as some good ghost tales. The walk is nice and you can go at your own pace.

The tour was fun, Nice to do at your own pace. The only issue was the fact that you get lost and turned around Way too easily. With that being said once you come across another area you wernt looking for the tour changes and starts talking about that location instead of the one you were headed to. So things got a tad confusing, but overall it was a nice tour just gotta pay attention better to certain streets really closely!
Great self-guided tour. After our guided ghost was canceled on us, we were bummed. Then we found this tour and enjoyed doing it at our own pace. So glad are original tour got canceled
I like how he the tour guide felt like he was really with us walking around. I also liked how he said to look up and see a ghost in the window and it was a mannequin. I like the story about the boy named James
