Loretto Chapel
La chapelle Loretto a été construite en 1878 par l'archevêque Lamy pour accompagner l'Académie des Sœurs de la Lumière Loretto. La chapelle néo-gothique s'inspire de la Sainte Chapelle de Paris, qui a été construite par l'architecte Antoine Mouly, qui a fait la restauration de la chapelle qui a été modelée pour le roi Louis IX à Paris. La légende raconte que l'escalier à 360 degrés construit dans la chapelle entre 1877 et 1881 n'avait aucun support visible. Aujourd'hui, il est connu sous le nom d'escalier miraculeux que saint Joseph le charpentier avait construit. La chapelle a été fermée en 1968 et désacralisée par l'Église catholique et est maintenant gérée par un musée privé.
Burro Alley
Burro Alley est une petite rue reliant Palace Avenue et San Francisco Street. Au XIXe et au début du XXe siècle, les vendeurs qui vendaient du sel du bassin de sel de Galisteo et du bois de chauffage des montagnes environnantes y attachaient leurs burros pour se reposer. Pendant que les animaux récupéraient, les vendeurs fréquentaient les saloons et les bordels locaux. La salle de jeu dirigée par María Gertrudis Barceló, connue sous le nom de Doña Tules, se trouvait au coin de l'avenue du Palais.

A wonderful and informative tour and couple of hours.
Ana has a passion for Santa Fe and these tours. She engages with everyone. She ties together the big picture to include the Native Americans and the Pueblo's, new Spain, and the USA. She has a wonderful grasp of the history and how to present this in a way that informs and entertains. The four of us greatly enjoyed our time with her and Santa Fe. Thanks, Robert LaGrange GA

An EXCELLENT tour with a VERY knowledgeable guide
Our tour today with Ana Pacheco was EXCELLENT! She has extensive knowledge of Santa Fe and its history, which she shares in a clear, easily-understandable manner. She’s a local, born and bred in Santa Fe, and described personal experiences that added to the topic she was talking about. (For example, when she was talking about the drought the area is experiencing, she contrasted the current low level of the Santa Fe River with a time when she was in high school, and she and some friends went tubing on the river.) If you want an in-depth understanding of Santa Fe’s past, and how it impacts current issues, then book with Ana!

Fabulous tour guide
Ana is the most experienced and interesting guide I have ever had in my life. She's also very sweet and friendly. I highly recommend the Santa Fe Revisited tour highly. You will learn so much about Santa Fe and the people who settled here.

Ana is the real deal!
Outstanding walking tour of Santa Fe! Ana is incredibly knowledgeable and a fantastic communicator. She makes Santa Fe’s rich history come alive! Lots of details abut this magical city that I had never heard mentioned before, on other tours that I have taken. Only 15 in our group. She is the author of seven books about Santa Fe, with an 8th one coming out soon. The tour is about 2 hours long and so worth it! You can make note of many places we visited to research/ visit them further , and she even offered a free talk the following day on one of the grande dames of Santa Fe. We were already commuted for another activity but would have really enjoyed this. Highly recommend Ana and her incredible knowledge and sense of humor too!

I highly recommend this tour!
This tour was wonderful, full of history and interesting information! This was actually the second time we took a tour with Ana Pacheco. We liked it so much in 2024, we decided to book the tour again when visiting Santa Fe recently. My mother, who is a senior, kept up and enjoyed it as much as I did. Ana is incredibly knowledgeable, having written several books about Santa Fe. The town is beautiful, made more spectacular with the rich history Ana shares. I would highly recommend this tour.
