Nous conduisons environ 30 min. Notre premier arrêt est la Maison de la Vierge Marie. La Maison de la Vierge Marie est située dans les montagnes de l'Aladag, à 8 km d'Éphèse. Lors du troisième concile œcuménique tenu le 431 de notre ère à Ephèse, il fut affirmé que Marie était venue à Ephèse avec saint Jean en 37 de notre ère et y avait vécu jusqu’à sa mort en 48. Après la découverte de la maison, l’archevêque d’Izmir avait déclaré lieu de pèlerinage en 1892. Le 26 juillet 1967, le pape Paul VI a visité cet endroit et a prié là-bas
Continuez vers notre tour avec notre deuxième arrêt Ephesus Ancient City. Nous commencerons par visiter l'un des points forts de la Turquie, Ephesus, l'une des 12 villes de la Ligue ionienne (un ancien district grec situé sur la côte ouest de l'Asie mineure), près d'Izmir. En tant que ville portuaire, elle constituait un important point de départ pour les routes commerciales vers l’Asie Mineure. Parcourez l’histoire en parcourant des rues en marbre bordées d’édifices publics magnifiques, parmi lesquels les Thermes de Scholastique, la bibliothèque de Celsus; il a été construit au début du IIe siècle après J.-C. par Gaius Julius Aquila pour servir de mémorial à son père, Gaius Julius Celsus Polemanus, proconsul de la province d'Asie. , le temple d'Hadrien et le Grand théâtre sont deux des édifices les plus impressionnants d'Éphèse. Le grand théâtre a été construit au IIIe siècle av. J.-C. Il a ensuite été étendu à 24 000 spectateurs par les Romains au Ier siècle ap.

Il y a 6 unités résidentielles construites sur trois terrasses artificielles. Ces maisons étaient habitées par de riches citoyens d'Éphèse. Ces maisons étaient décorées de manière très raffinée avec des fresques murales et des mosaïques au sol. Il y a de nombreuses marches à gravir de bas en haut. Déconseillé aux personnes ayant des difficultés à marcher et de l'acrophobie (peur des hauteurs).

The tour was interesting but we didn't get off to a very good start as I had the tour leaving at 8:00 and it didn't leave until 9:00. Viator claimed I received an email even though I did not. At the end of our tour our guide took us to shops (rugs, purses) that we felt were inappropriate. Almost like she was going to get a kick back if we bought something.

The entire tour was incredible- beginning to end. Our guide Fusun was friendly, informative, and great with everyone in our party from 6 yr old to adults. The van was clean, comfortable, and modern. Our driver was also very good. Loved seeing everything from Ephasus to the Terrace Houses (DO NOT MISS THIS)! And we ended the tour with a lovely farm to table lunch and rug-making demonstration. Highly recommend!!
Ershan our guide was really amazing, informative and entertaining. He is very knowledgeable around the history of the sites and was so kind to share with us his culture and history. We really enjoyed our experience especially since its our first time in Turkiye and we’re only there very briefly. Would definitely recommend him as your guide !

Was highly impressed with our guide! And our Driver! We had a full day, exploring the ancient city along with some great shopping and food! Probably the highlight of our time in Turkey. Cankat (our guide) was phenomenal. Highly recommend..
It was a fantastic trip. We had Nahide as our guide. I dont think a better guide exists honestly. She was very informed and is a super sweet lady. She spoke great English. She gave us plenty of time to take photos and explore, explaining everything to us before letting us explore and giving us frequent meet up points. I cannot recommend this enough. Also, they were very easy to find walking off our ship. Didn't even have to try to find them.

Melih clearly loves his country, and its history - his information was both educational and entertaining. Sergei was a good and safe driver, providing us with smooth transportation. Mere (our guide) was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable and interesting along with a great sense of humor. His knowledge of history, archeology, mythology and his love of Turkey was epic. Tour guide was easy to find at cruise terminal, even with 4 big ships arriving at the same time. Ben was our tour guide. Had an amazing experience. Very knowledgeable and informative throughout the day. He gave us paper to write a wish at the Virgin Mary house. We also stopped at a carpet workshop on the way back which we found quite interesting. We did not feel obligated to buy anything. Thanks Ben for a great day and the laughs!

Our guide (Melih), and our driver (Sergei) gave us a comprehensive and interesting tour of Mary’s House and Ephesus - we were super happy with the feel of the tour and the detail of the information that Melih shared with us.
