Le Sani Pass est sans aucun doute l’un des plus spectaculaires et pittoresques passages de montagne d’Afrique. Cette visite est un must si vous voyagez dans le KwaZulu Natal. Le col serpente à travers le sommet du Drakensberg et le poste frontière du Lesotho. De nombreux voyageurs aventureux du monde entier l'incluent dans leurs itinéraires afin de parcourir les paysages naturels à couper le souffle que cette montagne précaire a à offrir. La visite guidée ne nécessite aucune forme physique et encourage donc les personnes de tous âges. Vous serez pris en charge à 6h00 de votre hébergement à Durban et revenez vers 18h00 en fonction de la météo et de la circulation. La visite est riche en surprises et en points de vue inoubliables. Vous partirez après avoir conquis le col le plus élevé et le plus emblématique de l'Afrique australe.

Itinéraire
Cette visite est pour tous les âges et niveaux de forme physique. La durée de ce circuit est d’environ 6 heures, avec un transfert d’environ 2,5 heures de Durban et la même chose au retour. Vous partirez à 6h00 de votre hébergement à Durban. Si vous séjournez en dehors de Durban, veuillez nous contacter pour confirmer si un supplément est nécessaire. Veuillez apporter votre passeport valide. Il est conseillé d’apporter une veste chaude, une bouteille d’eau supplémentaire, un écran solaire, des jumelles et votre appareil photo. En venant de Durban, vous passerez devant la ville historique de Pietermaritzburg, puis vous vous dirigerez vers les montagnes du sud du Drakensberg. En vous dirigeant plus loin dans les montagnes, vous passerez devant de petits villages ruraux pittoresques et de vastes terres agricoles. À votre arrivée à Underberg, vous serez accueillis par un guide professionnel Sani Pass et transférés dans un véhicule 4x4. Vous passerez devant les terres agricoles et les contreforts du Drakensberg en direction du contrôle de la frontière sud-africaine. Ensuite, la tournée commence sérieusement. Vous gravirez 1 000 mètres sur une route de gravier sur 8 kilomètres à travers un site du patrimoine mondial et de magnifiques paysages jusqu'au poste-frontière du Lesotho. Au sommet, vous atteindrez une altitude de 2840 mètres. Pendant la montée du col, vous pourrez voir une grande variété d'oiseaux, d'élands, de babouins et de petits daims. La faune et la flore endémiques sont abondantes dans ce site du patrimoine mondial. Après le contrôle aux frontières du Lesotho, vous vous dirigerez dans les Hautes Terres du Lesotho. Vous pourrez même peut-être voir certains des bergers basotho insaisissables recouverts de couvertures traditionnelles et portant des vêtements traditionnels. Vous visiterez un petit village qui a été construit à l'origine pour aider les bergers locaux et voir leurs maisons en pierre. Votre guide vous expliquera son mode de vie et ses rituels quotidiens. Par la suite, vous vous dirigerez vers le plus haut pub d’Afrique pour le déjeuner et les boissons (à vos frais). Perché au bord de l'escarpement, vous aurez d'excellentes occasions de prendre des photos depuis les ponts du restaurant. Après le déjeuner, vous reviendrez à la frontière et vous plongerez dans les étonnants virages du Sani Pass, l'une des scènes les plus spectaculaires d'Afrique. Avec un ventre plein et beaucoup de souvenirs, votre chauffeur vous accueillera pour votre transfert à Durban. Une véritable opportunité de voir non seulement la magnificence de ce col, mais aussi un pays différent

Amazing experience!! A super smooth ride from Durban to Sani Pass + Lesotho and back all in the same day in a comfortable vehicle! Everyone was so nice and the pictures of Sani Pass do NOT do the Drakensburg justice.. the landscape blew me away and it was truly the highlight of the entire trip even though everything else we saw on our trip was amazing! As mentioned, everyone from the organizer to the guide to the driver were super friendly and gave us lots of good insight and history and background along with the experience itself! Would love to travel with them again!!

I made this reservation at the last minute, and I worked with Yolanda on the phone. She was able to put together a very last minute trip for me and my friend, and coordinated a ride from the cruise terminal in Durban with Xolani to Underberg, where we changed vehicles and did the Sani Pass trip with Patrick. Patrick was excellent, and gave us the history of the area. We crossed the border into Lesotho, and drove to a village and met with the villagers, who shared their culture and dance/songs with us. The weather wasn’t perfect, but the day was, and we got to see so much in a short amount of time. I would highly recommend Major Adventures for this trip!
We had a wonderful time on this tour. Our guide Allen was extremely knowledgeable about both South Africa and Basotho and masterfully drove up the difficult pass. We saw baboons, danced with Basotho locals, and got some breathtaking views.

The expirience was amazing. Driver was very expiriences, the people that we met were international young students and they were fun to be with. We helped each other. Lesoto people were great. Defenately a warm jacket was useful and needed. I would advise that people bring actual cash as we had an u ha memoment when we just finished eating and the card machine declined all our bank cards from different banks😁
Good Afternoon, some very great feedback for those thinking of doing the Sani Pass Day Tour. Lesotho can get up to 10 degrees cooler than South Africa. Jackets, Sunscreen and Cash is always advised to travel with. Loadshedding plays havoc in our Country, including Lesotho, and we are very sorry that this impacted on your trip. Warren the tour guide was fantastic!He was so knowledgeable about everything and real’y took his time to make sure our tour was flawless.We did have a pick up from Durban which was not organised that well so we would suggest confirming this with Major adventures the night before!Other than that,get a tour with Warren!He is the BEST!

Regarding the transfer from Durban - we depend on clients providing us with the exact pickup address in Durban. While Cameron gave us a pickup address, this is not where the driver eventually found you both. We were with a travellers group. In 4 jeeps the very skilled drivers drove us through the Sanipass and told us about the flora and fauna in the surroundings as well as the history in that place. Seeing nature changing the higher we drove was extraordinary. Never felt and tasted such cold and fresh water from the mountains. The views were amazing and being in Lesotho was beautiful, again experiencing another culture within a culture.

We had an amazing day with our guide Elias. He was a wealth of valuable knowledge. The drive up the Sani Pass was gorgeous. Don’t leave Lesotho off your itinerary! It makes for a very long day if you’re coming from Durban, but it’s worth it and completely doable!
